Yamaha has revealed the 2020 BW’S 125 in Japan, along with the pricing. The new 2020 Yamaha BW’S 125 has retained most of the aesthetics from the preview model but with few changes. The adventure scooter now has a price tag of 3,35,500 Yen or approx Rs 2.38 lakhs.

Engine

The 2020 Yamaha BW’S 125 comes with a 124 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing around 9.5 bhp max power and 9.9 Nm of peak torque. The engine, of course, comes mated with the CVT gearbox. When compared to the Yamaha’s Indian 125 cc lineup the power is around 1.5 bhp more and torque is 0.2 Nm more. Therefore, the scooter is supposed to have a better performance when compared to Yamaha’s Indian scooters.

Features

Along with better power and performance, the scooter also comes with better features. The scooter comes with larger 29-litres under-seat storage which is class-leading. It also has a four-litre cubby hole at the front and external fuel lid cap. The instrument cluster is a fully digital LCD unit with a sporty layout and displays all the necessary information.

Hardware

2020 Yamaha BW'S

The 2020 Yamaha BW’S sits on 12-inch alloy wheels. The braking comes with the disc at front and rear too. The suspension work is done by telescopic suspension at the front and dual shock at the rear. The dual-shock suspension is quite unusual for the Indian market. Nevertheless, let’s take an overview of the design.

Design

The design of the 2020 Yamaha BW’S remains identical to the previous version. It continues to have halogen headlights, similar alloy wheel design, sporty exhaust, knobby tyres, knuckle guards and quite quirky design. The 2020 model comes with additional colour option – ‘Dark Blueish Grey Solid’. The scooter comes with plenty of touring elements such as the luggage mountable grab handles, comfortable seats.

India Arrival

The chances of the scooter to venture into the Indian market is quite low. Yamaha already has lots of good scooters in the Indian market. Yamaha Fascino 125, Ray ZR 125 and Street Rally 125. As India has plenty of offroad tracks, yeah, you guessed it right, so Yamaha should think about the adventure scooter for India, it will surely make a difference in the market.
