2020 Datsun Redi-GO – Price?

Nissan-Datsun recently teased the upcoming 2020 Redi-GO. The new Redi-GO will be getting plenty of cosmetic changes as well as a BS6 updated engine.  The prices are expected to be very competitive and we think this time Datsun has done market study even better. The previous Redi-GO was priced at Rs 2.79 lakhs for the base variant and Rs 4.

2020 Datsun Redi-GO Competitors

Now, any manufacturer before even developing a vehicle always keeps the competition in mind. The Datsun red-GO will be competing against the entry-level hatchbacks such as Maruti Alto, S-Presso and Renault Kwid. Previously, the Redi-GO was competing against the Alto 800 and Alto K10, as Maruti has upgraded the Alto K10 with S-Presso which is a lot bigger in terms of dimensions. So Redi-GO has a big challenge this time. In terms of dimensions, both Maruti S-Presso and Renault Kwid are little better than the previous Redi-GO. As the upcoming 2020 Redi-GO will be retaining the chassis, so we can expect similar dimensions.

Now, coming to the conclusion, if Datsun Redi-GO has to really stand strong in this competitive segment. The way to achieve this is by keeping the price very aggressive or adding competitive segment-leading features.

Redi-GO Features

The 2020 Datsun Redi-GO will be getting all-LED headlamp unit with LED DRLs, rear spoiler. It will be getting reworked bumper grille, new wheels. The interior is expected to come with multiple segment-leading comforts and convenience features.  It should be getting touch screen infotainment, steering mounted buttons, all power windows, an accessory power outlet, standard safety equipment and much other. The interior theme is supposed to be completely new and upmarket.

Powertrain

Coming towards the powertrain, the previous model opted with two engine – 0.8-litre, 1.0-litre. The 0.8-litre petrol engine produced around 53 bhp max power and  72 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the 1.0-litre petrol engine produced around  67 bhp and 91 Nm of peak torque. The 5-speed manual transmission was standard with both the engines. The automatic gearbox option was only limited to the 1.

Datsun Redi-GO Launch Date
