The Hyundai Creta has been launched amongst difficult times in the market. The sales of all kinds of cars have already been dead for quite some time and are expected to take a further hit in the coming months. However, some people have eagerly awaited the launch of the Hyundai Creta. There are three different kinds of powertrains that are offered as a Hyundai Creta Engine. These engines are seen on the Kia Seltos as well. We give you the specifications and the dynamics of the engines and help you choose the right Hyundai Creta engine option for you.

1.5-litre petrol

Hyundai Creta Engine

This is a naturally aspirated petrol engine from Hyundai. The engine produces 113 bhp and 144 nm of torque. This engine has just enough power for a car of this size. The performance is nothing to be excited about, but the engine does its job. If you are looking for a refined petrol engine to be driven in the city this is the one for you. The car does have a decent response but is mainly meant for a laid back drive rather than a quick one. It gets the option of a six-speed manual as well as a CVT automatic. It gives you a mileage of 16.8 km/l. If you are looking for more features at a lesser price point and engine performance is not your priority then this Hyundai Creta engine option is the one to go for.

Hyundai Creta 1.5 litre diesel

Diesels are a must in the Indian market and the Creta comes with one. Now the most important number in a diesel car is the mileage and the Creta gives a mileage of 21.4 km/l. This engine produces the same 113 bhp as petrol. But the torque figure is what makes the diesel engine more responsive than petrol. It produces 250 nm of torque. This excess of torque is one reason why diesel cars are popular in our country as you get the instant acceleration you need at very low revs. But this engine does not have a decent punch after speeds of 100 km/h. The car comes with a six-speed manual as well as a six-speed torque converter automatic. If fuel efficiency is your priority and your daily drive is for many km then this engine is the one to go for.

Hyundai Creta 1.4 litre turbo petrol

Turbo is a name that is often associated with performance and rightly so. The 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine in this car produces an impressive 138 bhp and 242 nm of torque. The mileage of the engine is also rated at the same 16.8 km/l that was seen on the 1.5-litre petrol. The responsiveness of this Hyundai Creta engine is sure to put a smile on your face. Furthermore, it is comes paired with the seven-speed DCT which is just a delight to drive. In the city, the shifts are smooth and on the highways, it overtakes other cars with ease. This variant costs around Rs 1.5 lakh more than the equivalent 1.5-litre petrol automatic variant. If performance comes in any of your criteria while buying a car then this engine and gearbox are definitely worth the extra money.
