The upcoming Tata Hexa is based on the Aria and is complete re-do of the existing MPV. While the platform remains the same, there are several major changessuch as the exterior styling, sheet metal and even interiors of the new MPV.

The Hexa will become the new flagship for Tata Motors and this will get the same 2.2-litre diesel engine, however it is likely to produce about 170bhp of power and 400Nm of maximum torque. This engine will come with a six-speed manual transmission and also an automatic (ZF) transmission should be made available.

The Hexa will be making its way into the MPV segment and this will be a six-seater (and hence the name). The Hexa gets multiple changes on the inside as it has a new dashboard with the new-generation Tata steering wheel and also a touchscreen Harman infotainment system with Bluetooth, USB and aux connectivity, multiple airbags, ABS, ESP and 4×4 also.

The Tata Hexa will be priced at INR 12.5-17 lakhs (on-road) and the currently sold Aria will be discontinued. This will be competing with the Toyota Innova, and to some extent even the Honda Mobilio and theRenault Lodgy.
