KTM nowadays is a household name in India. The brand has now ventured into most of the motorcycle categories so that gives the customer a wide option.  The brand has naked street-fighters, full faired sports bikes and now also the adventure motorcycle. With all these categories KTM also has multiple displacement options, starting from the 125 cc to the 790 cc. So this article will showcase all the bikes of KTM with their respective category and subcategory, KTM enthusiasts will surely love reading about their favourite KTM.

Naked Street-fighters

Naked street fighter is the most common and practical category among others. KTM Duke’s are surely the widely know KTM motorcycle.

KTM 125 Duke

KTM 125 Duke

Duke 125 shares the chassis and styling from the old KTM 390 Duke and 200 Duke. The bike comes equipped with the 124.71 cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that produces around 14.5 bhp max power and 12 Nm of peak torque. The engine then gets mated with the six-speed gearbox. Its the most powerful 125 cc motorcycle in the country. The bike is the most affordable orange rocket or we can say it as a pocket rocket.

KTM 200 Duke

KTM 200 Duke

Its the second most affordable orange rocket. The KTM 200 Duke comes with the 119.5 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that produces around 25.1 bhp max power and 19.5 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated with the six-speed gearbox. Once again, it is the most powerful 200 cc motorcycle in the country. Along with that, KTM 200 Duke is also the most sold KTM to date.

KTM 250 Duke

KTM 250 Duke

KTM 250 Duke is one of my favourites because it gets better power, colour schemes, power than the 200 Duke. The bike comes equipped with 248.8 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that produces around 30 bhp max power and 24 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated with six-speed gearbox and slipper or anti-hopping clutch. I have to again say that its the most powerful 250 cc motorcycle available in India.

KTM 390 Duke

KTM 390 Duke

KTM 390 Duke is quite popular among the college-goers due to its better power to weight ratio. It comes equipped with 373 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that produces around 42.3 bhp max power and 37 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated with the six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. The bike also comes with quick shifters. Any guess, if its the most powerful in the segment or not? Of course, the bike is the most powerful bike in the segment.

KTM 790 Duke

KTM 790 Duke

Its the biggest Duke available in India. The KTM 790 Duke comes with 799 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine. The engine produces around 101.8 bhp max power and 87 Nm of peak torque. It then gets mated with the six-speed gearbox and anti-hopping clutch. The bike gets a slipper clutch, various riding modes, and much more modern techs. The bike currently isn’t available in the BS6 variant but soon it will be upgraded with the BS6 standards.

Before going to the next category, one might have wondered how did KTM really manage to have a lower price tag with high-level performance? The simple reason is Bajaj. Bajaj currently produces KTM, Husqvarna and Bajaj motorcycle so they have a great chance of mass production which significantly drops the price of the bike. Recently, Bajaj has also made an alliance with the Triumph motorcycles so now we can expect something unusual from the Triumph as well as in the upcoming KTM motorcycles.

Now coming to the second category which is the Faired sports bikes.

Faired Sports Bike – RC’s

KTM RC 200

The faired sports bike segment is continuously growing in India as the new contestants are entering into the segment. KTM is quite an old player in this segment. The KTM RCs are popular faired motorcycle in the country. KTM RC’s share the same engines with the KTM Duke’s. The significant difference in the Duke’s and the RC’s is only about the riding posture and dynamics, the majority of hardware equipment are been shared with the Duke series.

KTM Adventure

KTM Adventure series is the new series that has been entered in India recently. A few months ago KTM launched the 390 Adventure. It shares the engine with 390 Duke and RC 390. The bike is derived from the KTM 390 Duke and shared multiple features in common. KTM is planning to launch smaller Adventure motorcycles in the country. We can expect the next ADV to have 250 cc engine of 250 Duke and RC 250.

KTM 390 Adventure

As KTM has now entered into the three categories, it will be exciting to see what will be the manufacturer’s fourth category. The company is really famous for its motocross two-stroke vehicles. We expect a 4 stroke motocross bike as a new segment from KTM in the coming years.
