Hero Glamour has always been a tough contestant in 125 cc bike segment. It’s now undergone BS6 update and we believe that it’s been improved that the predecessor. Let’s see how well does the Hero Glamour outperform the rivals.

Powertrain

The Hero Glamour BS6 comes with the 124.7 cc air-cooled, fuel-injected unit. The engine churns out 10.73 bhp max power at 7,500 rpm and 10.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Comparing with the rival Honda Shine, the power output is around 0.2 bhp more but torque output is 0.4 Nm low. The engine is mated with the 5-speed gearbox and wet multi-plate clutch.

The previous BS4 engine was a peppy motor, so we can expect the same from the BS6 model also. The previous model accelerates 0-60 km/h in just 6.03 sec so we can expect the same in the current BS6 model as well. When compared with the Honda CB Shine, that’s about 1 sec earlier.

Hardware

The newer BS6 model comes with telescopic suspension at the front with 120 mm of travel while the rear gets equipped with 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber with 81 mm of travel. Braking duty is managed by 130 mm drum brakes for both wheels and also an optional front disc of 240 mm. The brakes are then assisted by the combined braking system, for safety purpose. It gets 18-inch alloy wheels with 80/100 section tyre at the front and 100/80 section tyre at the rear. Both the tyres tubeless. The bike has offered with the ground clearance of 180 mm which is segment-leading. Due to the better ground clearance, the bike offers better rideability across bad roads.

Design language

The Hero Glamour comes in the commuter segment but the manufacturer has tried well to give a sporty look. The muscular fuel tank design enhances the bulkiness of the bike as well as overall aesthetics. The wider rear tyre also makes the bike to look better as well as the handling. The design of the bike has been refreshed for the better good. The tank shrouds have been extended as well.

Features

The Hero Glamour doesn’t lag in the features either. It comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster. The digital display shows the trips, fuel level, mileage, gears and other much-needed information. Due to the fuel injection system, the bike can crawl into the selected low gears without the use of the clutch, Hero calls it an Auto-Sail system.

Pricing

The pricing of the Hero Glamour starts at Rs 68,900 (ex-showroom). Comparing with the rivals, the pricing is almost similar. Therefore, it offers better performance for the same amount of money over rivals. The rivals of the Hero Glamour includes Bajaj Pulsar 125 Neon and Honda CB Shine.
