TVS Motors has been very aggressive in the BS6 update and now finally they have upgraded their most affordable commuter motorcycle, the TVS Sport. The bike is now priced at Rs 51,750 that makes it Rs 8,017 expensive than the BS4 counterpart. The BS6 model has been offered with additional features and changes. Continue reading the blog and you will know about these features and changes.

Design

The design has not been changed and appears similar to the predecessor at first glance. However to give a fresh appeal TVS motors have added new LED DRLs setup in the headlamp unit. The bike comes with pretty basic elements but very practical bits. For reference, the bike has pretty long flat type seat, chain guard, sareeguard, and other such types of practical elements. The black alloy wheels also help to enhance the practicality as well as the aesthetics of the bike.

Engine / Powertrain

The main change has occurred with the engine department. The BS6 TVS Sport comes with an all-new and more powerful 109.7 cc engine. The engine is now a fuel-injected unit that comes mated with a 4-speed gearbox and wet multi-plate clutch. The engine is capable of churning out 8.1 bhp max power and 8.7 Nm of peak torque. Comparing with the BS4 model, the bike now produces around 0.7 bhp more and 1.2 Nm more peak torque.

Hardware

Coming to the Hardware, the bike retains most of the hardware from the predecessor. It comes equipped with telescopic suspension at the front and dual-hydraulic spring suspension at the rear. The rear shock-absorber does have a 5-step adjustment that makes it convenient to tweak the ride quality of the bike. Braking duty of the bike is still managed by the conventional drum brakes for both the wheels, that still acceptable as it reduces the maintenance cost of the bike. The brakes are assisted with the sync braking system (combined braking) for additional safety.

TVS Sport BS6

The most interesting change we liked about the BS6 model is the tyres and ground clearance. The bike now comes equipped with tubeless tyres that increase the safety factor of the bike. Also, the bike has now increased the ground clearance compared with the predecessor. However, the bike has now gained an additional 1.5 kgs weight, thanks to the additional features and engine.

Features

The bike comes at the very affordable price tag so it does not come with the advanced and trending fancy features. It continues to have analogue odometer, speedometer and fuel gauge. The bike comes with a button start system.

Price and Rivals

The pricing for the BS6 TVS Sport starts at Rs 52,335 and the self-start, alloy wheel top model costs Rs 59,025. The bike competes against Bajaj Platina, Hero Deluxe, and other commuter motorcycles in the price band.
