Bajaj has finally launched the BS6 version of the biggest family member of the Pulsar family, the Pulsar RS200. The price has been hiked with Rs 4,000 and now the pricing of the motorcycle starts at Rs 1.45 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The bike now will have few changes over the predecessor. Let’s see what more do we get in the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar RS200.

Engine / Powertrain

The bike now comes with a BS6 compliant engine and exhaust. It retains the same 200 cc engine that is fuel-injected and liquid-cooled. The power figures are not changed significantly and remain to be same at 23.8 bhp and 18.7 Nm peak torque. We have to really say that Bajaj has done a very splendid job in the BS6 transition by keeping less to no change in the power figures. The bike comes with a 6-speed transmission. However, there will be a little bit of decrease in the performance due to the additional weight of 2 kgs that was boosted due to BS6 regulations.

Hardware

Hardware bits are similar to the BS4 model. It continues to get 17-inch alloy wheels with 100/80, 130/70 section tyre for front and the rear respectively.

Suspension on the bike is telescopic for the front and mono-shock at the rear. Braking duty is managed by 300 mm disc at the front and 230 mm disc at the rear. These disc brakes are then assisted by dual-channel ABS.

Features

Looking at the feature list, the bike comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster, similar to the BS4. It has a clip-on handlebar that gives it a nice sporty posture. The taillight unit is a LED unit which is now pretty common in this segment. At the front bike, it has a twin projected headlight setup that looks absolutely stunning.

New colour option

Designwise the bike looks absolutely the same as the BS4. It continues to have the bulky faired design. From the from, it gets split headlamp unit and pretty big windscreen. The bike gets silver finish element on the exhaust to enhance the looks.

Although the company has not revealed the new colour schemes. We are expecting it to have new colour options to have it a fresh appeal.

Rivals

The primary rivals for the bike include Yamaha Fazer 25, Hero Xtreme 200S and also its sibling KTM RS 200. The bike is very well known for the good value for money and it seems that it has maintained the tag for quite an extent. Recently Bajaj launched Dominar 250 that is very well packed motorcycle and just costs Rs 16,000 extra over the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar RS200.
