Mahindra Bolero is company’s long running workhorse with consistent sales figures for many month. It is very obvious that company will have it on the list of BS-VI compliant portfolio. Company is steadily and slowly upgrading their SUVs to meet the new norm, coming into effect from 1st April. Till now, updated XUV 300 and KUV100 Nxt are launched and remaining models are spied numerous times doing testing rounds. Next to be on the spied list is Bolero Power Plus.

BS-VI Bolero Power Plus

As seen in the spy shot, the front fascia of this SUV gets heavily reworked. The headlight now houses a chrome element which highlights the profile of reflector housing. On top of it, DRL lamp housing is present. The bumper is also a re-profiled unit, having fog lamps in it. The presence of DRL and fog lamps suggests that this particular car is a top spec variant. Between the headlights, we can see the new grill with varying width vertical slats. Speaking of variants, the updated Bolero is reported to come in three variants B4, B6 and B6 Option.

The BS-VI Upgrade

The BS-VI upgrade is all about upgrading engine to emit less pollutants while running on low sulphur fuel. Powering the Bolero is the 1.5 liter three-cylinder D75 engine which produces power of 71 bhp. The same engine in different state of tune can be seen on upcoming TUV300 update. It is unknown for now, that what technology of NOx reduction will be implied. But considering the low cost at which this SUV retails, expect lean NOx trap system. Taking hint from XUV 300 price hike, expect this new environment friendly Bolero to cost about 50,000-70,000 INR more over current price.
