The Hero XPulse is one of the popular 200cc bikes in India.

It is known as the cheapest 200cc bike. The bike in its BS6 avatar is set to be launched next month, but this has not stopped dealers from taking pre-bookings already. In select dealerships, you can book the XPulse at an amount between Rs 1,000-2,000. The bike is not expected to get many changes visually but will indeed get some changes to its motor. Read more about the BS6 XPulse 200 below.

Engine and transmission

The current XPulse gets a 200cc air cooled single-cylinder motor that produces 18.1 bhp and 17.1nm of torque. The new BS6 Hero XPulse 200 will have a slight drop of power on these figures. It will get a catalytic converter so as to meet the BS6 emission norms. The engine will now only be available in the fuel injected variant. It will be mated to a five-speed transmission as before.

Hero XPulse 200 styling and features

As mentioned earlier, the BS6 variant will not get any changes to the outside as well as on the features department. The BS6 Hero XPulse 200 will continue to get features such as a LED headlight, Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, dual-purpose tyres and a tall-set exhaust. The suspension and the brakes will also be the same and it will continue to use telescopic front forks with 190mm of travel and a rear mono-shock with 170mm of travel to perform the shock absorption tasks along with a 276mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear while the safety net will include a single-channel ABS.

BS6 Hero XPulse 200 Price

The price for the Hero Xpulse 200 BS6 is expected to have a hike of Rs 7,000-8,000 over the fuel-injected BS4 model. The current pricing for the BS4 fuel-injected model is at Rs 1,07,500(ex-showroom). It will be competing against the RE Himalyan, which is around Rs 80,000 expensive than the Xpulse 200. Therefore the BS6 Hero XPulse 200 really has no close competitor and that surely makes the bike stand out from other adventure motorcycles.

The pre-bookings are only available on select dealerships and not all of them. Meanwhile, the BS4 XPulse will also continue to be sold but get at a discounted price till the launch of the BS6 variant. Check out our review on the XPulse:
