The BS6 emission norms have caused a lot of manufacturers to add features or facelifts to their cars. The changes from BS4 to BS6 engines does increase the cost of production and therefore manufacturers often add something else to the car to make the added price more appealable to the customers. Honda plans to bring in a facelift for its WRV- the compact SUV from Honda with the introduction of the BS6 engines. The WRV facelift will compete with the likes of the recently updated Tata Nexon and the new Vitara Brezza. Find out all the changes to the car below.

While some manufacturers are shying away from diesel engines due to additional costs, Honda has decided to retain its diesel engine with the WRV Honda. The WRV gets a BS6 compliant 1.2 petrol that is good for 90bhp and 1.

5 litre diesel that produces 110bhp. The WRV was not offered in any kind of an automatic variant as the company said that it would increase the cost of the car. Even with the facelift the company does not have any plans to launch an automatic variant and will continue selling the five speed manual.

The facelift does seem to be prominent as there are many changes in the car that are seen. It gets some chrome elements on the front along with an updated design of the lights as well as the bumpers. The design of the grille is also very unique and gets horizontally shaped lines.

 On the rear it gets updated LED lights.

From the inside, it will feature steering-mounted audio controls, cruise control, push-button start, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, sunroof and rear AC vents. Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and a rear parking camera.

Pricing and launch

The car is currently offered at a price of 8.16 lakh to 10.48 lakh (ex-showroom) and the prices are expected to be higher than this for the face-lifted model.
