BS6 Bajaj Avenger 160 bookings open!

The BS6 Bajaj Avenger 160 has been seen at certain dealerships. The BS6 model will be seen soon across the country. The mini cruiser bike will be launched by the end of this month. The BS6 Bajaj Avenger will be priced approximately Rs 90,000. This is almost Rs 8000 more than the BS4 model. This is the most accessible cruiser for the Indian audience.

The bookings of the Avenger 160 BS6 have been begun. One can book the bike for the Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000. The bike does not have much of changes and we can expect the launch of the vehicle soon.

BS6 Avenger 160 Engine

The bike will now get a 160cc engine. We will see a slight power drop.

The bike currently makes 15 bhp of power and it makes 13Nm of torque in BS4 tune. The BS6 bike will use the same 5-speed gearbox but we think that a 6-speed gearbox will give it that relaxed cruising speed required on the highway. Also, an oil-cooled engine will make it less susceptible to overheating over prolonged intervals.

The BS6 compliance will be done by adding a catalytic converter to the existing exhaust. This engine will also be now fuel injected. The new engine will feel smoother and it will also have a throttle smoothness. Also from the images that have been unveiled, we get to know that the catalytic converter gets a heat shield. The bike will now get a complete LED headlamp unit. This is done to make the price look justified. Rest of the bike remains the same as the BS4 model.

Bajaj Avenger 160 Features

The BS6 Avenger Street will get telescopic forks at the front and it gets twin shock absorbers at the rear. The braking duties are handled by 260 mm front disc brakes and single-channel ABS. The rear disc brake is 130 mm.

Bajaj Avenger 160 Competition

The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 will compete with the Suzuki Intruder 150 BS6. As of now, the bike does not have any other competition but we can soon expect TVS and Hero to enter this segment.
