The Month of March this year will be filled with car launches as the BS6 deadline is on 1st April. So most of the manufacturers have to make their cars BS6 compliant by the end of this month or stop selling them. This means that we are headed towards a lot of launches and here is a lift of 10 main launches that we can expect. Also, the Geneva Motor Show was cancelled on account of Corona Virus.

This also has affected the parts supply market which is concentrated in China. Overall there is a slow down in the industry and this might affect the launch of a few vehicles.

1. Hyundai Tucson Facelift

This vehicle was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020. We have a clear idea of what to expect from the vehicle. The car gets a basic BS6 update for the engine. There are also a few cosmetic changes which can be seen on the new model. A lot of new driver assistance features have been added to the vehicle and its safety to has been improved. The Hyundai Tucson might be priced at Rs 19 lakhs to Rs 25 lakhs.

2. Hyundai Creta Next-Gen

The Hyundai Creta is one of the most important car launches this year. This car has been one of the most anticipated vehicles in the Indian market. With Hyundai setting such high standards with the last product, we can expect them to deliver better this time. This car too was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 but the interiors were not revealed for this vehicle. The car’s design is seen with inspiration from ix25. The interiors have been changed for India and it has been made as a Head on a rival to the Kia Seltos.

3. Hyundai Verna Facelift

Hyundai Verna is getting a major facelift for the year 2020. The car has become now even sharper looking. It will compete with the new upcoming Honda City Facelift. Some of the features of the vehicle will be borrowed from the Hyundai Elantra

4. Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace

This is one of the many car launches that Volkswagen has planned for India. The Tiguan is already sold in India. This Allspace version of the vehicle will be a 7 seater. This car was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. There is a chance that the Tiguan drivetrain will be updated with a DCT gearbox. The car is expected to be priced at Rs 32 Lakhs.

5. Volkswagen T-Roc

Volkswagen T-Roc is a vehicle which the company has successfully introduced in the market. The company has also introduced the Tiguan Allspace and the bookings for it have already been started. This car is expected to be a CBU unit. It will be seen with a 1.5-litre engine. The four-cylinder TSI Evo Turbocharged engine will be used on this car. This engine makes a power of 150 bhp and 240 Nm. This too gets the same DCT as the Tiguan Allspace.

6. Honda City 2020

The Honda City 2020 is the most awaited among car launches in India. The vehicle will be seen with a new and updated BS6 engine. The interiors of the car will be changed to a great extent. There will be a significant rise in the price of the vehicle. The Honda City 2020 is also expected with a 1-litre turbo petrol engine but this might be seen but this will be seen after the launch.

7. Renault Duster 1.3 BS6

The Renault Duster 1.3 was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. It had a 1.3-litre petrol engine with a turbocharger. The diesel engine of the Duster will be a 1.5 litre K9K engine. This car launch will also get a CVT gearbox. This car is expected to be priced quite a bit higher than the current model.

8. Force Gurkha

The Force Gurkha was there at the Auto Expo 2020. This is a head-on a competitor to the new upcoming Mahindra Thar.

Also this vehicle has been seen while being tested a number of times. This suggests that we can expect the vehicle this month. The Force Gurkha has got a modern design language and the interiors have been updated well. The infotainment system of the vehicle will also be a touchscreen unit and we are expecting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

9. Datsun Redi-Go Facelift

The Datsun Redi-Go competes with the Kwid and Maruti Spresso. Both these cars are fresh in the market and they are selling like hotcakes. The Datsun Redi Go is in dire need of a facelift and we can soon expect the vehicle with a new face. The car will come with the same 1-litre engine with BS6 tune. It will also get a 5-speed manual and 5 Speed AMT gearbox.

10. BMW X1

Of all these car launches this month. The BMW X1 will be the only premium car. This will be seen with the petrol and diesel engine that are BS6 compliant. The petrol engine will make 192 bhp of power and 280 Nm of torque.

The diesel has 190 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque. It comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The BMW X1 is price between Rs 39 lakhs to Rs 46 lakhs.
