The Tata Nexon has been getting a lot of updates from the company. It is known to be one of the strongest products of Tata’s line-ups and has recently got a facelift which has changed the interiors as well as the design. It also got a BS6 upgrade with it and now Tata has upgraded its petrol engine to now make 120hp and 170nm of torque in order to compete with the rivals such as the Hyundai Venue turbo and the Ecosport turbo both of which produce around 120hp.

Nexon turbo engine

The previous Nexon 1.0 litre turbo petrol made 110hp and 170nm of torque.

Therefore, there is an upgrade of 10hp over the previous one. This was mainly done so that it can now compete with its counterparts the Venue turbo and the Ecosport turbo.

The venue turbo makes the same hp while the Ecosport turbo makes 123hp.

Nexon turbo transmission

The transmission options will be the same as before which were the six-speed manual and the six-speed AMT.  Interestingly, this new upgrade will also make the Nexon as Tata’s most powerful petrol model with it getting 6hp more than the Tiago and Tigor JTP which are the sport hatchback and sedan offering from the company. This has also seen an increase the fuel efficiency by slight margins in the manual variants.

Nexon Turbo design

The Nexon facelift gets a completely reworked front-end that’s more squared-out, with a new grille, headlights, bumper and fog lamps. Also new, are the blacked-out C-pillars, reprofiled tail-lamps and the restyled rear bumper.
