Recently, we have seen many manufacturers introduce turbocharged engines in their cars. Hyundai has also brought in it’s 1 litre turbo petrol in its cars in different states of tune. The most recent car to get this is the Grand i10 Nios and will get the same engine from the Hyundai Aura sedan. This unit is also offered in the Hyundai Venue although in a different tune. The new car will be called the Nios Turbo. Find out more details about the pricing changes and the engine itself below.

Overview

The Grand i10 Nios is basically a car that is a premium offering of the already popular Grand i10. Hyundai did not want to discontinue its largely popular i10 and therefore has kept selling the Grand i10 Nios alongside the Grand i10. Although the Grand i10 will not get the turbo variant that has been introduced with the Nios.

Variants and costing

The 1.0 litre turbo three-cylinder petrol will be offered in the Sportz variant of the car which is not the highest variant that would be the Asta.

The turbo will also not be offered with an AMT option as is available on the Asta. Hyundai has done this so as to not end up making the turbo very pricey and out of reach for buyers. The i10 Nios Turbo will be Rs 1.

25 lakh more expensive than the standard 1.2 litre car in the same variant and Rs 49,000 more expensive than the top-end Asta variant. The price of the car will be 7.68 lakh in its single tone colour scheme and 7.72 lakh in its dual-tone colour option (all prices ex-showroom).
