BS6 Honda Activa 6G launched – Priced at Rs 63,912.

Honda launched 1st, gen Activa, in the year 2001 from then it is been hot cake for Honda and managed to get a tag of the highest selling scooter in India. While entering its 20th year, Honda has launched the BS6 compliant model for passing the upcoming stricter emission norms. Let’s see what kind of changes and features does the BS6 Honda Activa 6G possess.

Activa has not got any major update since 2018. But this time it has got a major engine update and some tweaks. The new Activa 6G model comes with BS6 compliant fuel injected 109.

2 cc single cylinder air-cooled engine which produces max power of 7.68 BHP at 8000 rpm and peak torque of 8.79 Nm at 5250 rpm. However the power has gone down by almost 0.3 bhp and torque by around 0.2 Nm. The new BS6 engine comes with Honda ESP technology which reduces friction by offsetting cylinder and optimizing piston. This results in 10% increase in fuel economy than its predecessor.

The engine start system is similar to that on Activa 125 BS6, which is super duper silent. It also gets a side stand engine inhibitor, which we truly appreciate.

Aesthetically, the BS6 Honda Activa 6G BS6 model much or less remains the same. It gets LED headlamp setup, a new analogue instrument cluster. The new model also gets a much needed telescopic suspension at the front. The BS6 model has increased wheelbase of about 22 mm and increased floor panel by 23 mm. This eventually will make long rides comfortable for both riders as well as pillion. The ground clearance is offered of 171 mm which is class-leading and good indeed for Indian roads. Fuel lid position has been changed for convincing at the back, similar to TVS scooters.

As, all above were positive and good changes, but it misses out on a front disc, digital multi-information instrument cluster and a major aesthetic change.

The new Activa 6G is priced at Rs 63,912. Bookings are already begin and delivery will be commencing soon.
