Maruti showcased many of its offering for the forthcoming year. Among them, S-cross was also featured with the BS6 upgrade. Set to arrive in March 2020, it will possess a certain amount of changes than ongoing version. To know more about 2020 Maruti S-cross BS6, continue reading below.

Exterior and Interior

From exterior one cannot differentiate between BS6 and BS4 version, because there isn’t any change from the exterior. It got the aesthetic update since three years back and same design is now carried forward. That update made the S-cross look more bolder and aggressive. The S-cross features vertical slant chrome grille, LED DRLs, cruise control and much more. The interior too is much or less similar to the predecessor and not much changes have happened.

Engine

The changes, however, are mostly done with the engine. Maruti S-cross BS6 is now equipped with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. The engine produces around 103 bhp max power at 6,000 rpm and 138 rpm peak torque at 4,400 rpm. The engine is a BS6 compliant unit. It is mated with five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain is currently shared with the  Ertiga, XL6, Ciaz and recently unveiled Vitara Brezza.

Unlike Ertiga, XL6 and Ciaz, the Suzuki’s SHVS(mild-hybrid technology) will only be offered on the Automatic trim. The previously used 1.3-litre diesel, which produced 90 bhp and 200 Nm torque is now phased out from Maruti’s entire line-up.
In the distant future, the S-cross will be replaced by the production-spec Maruti’s Futuro-e, which was showcased at the Auto Expo. The Futuro-e will be a compact SUV and will possess a distinctive look than traditional compact SUV’s.

Price

Price of the Maruti S-cross BS6 is expected to have a slight drop due to a withdrawal of diesel engine. The current price of on-sale S-cross is Rs 8.81 lakhs(ex-showroom) to Rs 11.44 lakhs(ex-showroom). It will compete against Honda WR-V and Tata Nexon. Alongside the S-cross Maruti also unveiled BS6 Brezza and Hybrid Swift.
