Tata Hexa Safari Edition- Auto Expo 2020

Tata Hexa Safari Edition was showcased at Auto Expo 2020. It promises more visual appeal than the regular Hexa. The vehicle is offered in different colour scheme and some additional features. It is in general the off-road version of the Hexa. To know about what all changes it posses scroll below.

Design

The exterior is pretty similar to the on-sale Tata Hexa. Tata Hexa Safari Edition is offered with somewhat miliary green colour scheme.

It gets the new full black alloy 17-inch alloy wheels. The side cladding is completely new unit with more rugged styling. Wing mirrors are offered with piano black finish. Roof rails of the vehicle are a different unit with the Safari Edition badging on it.

The bumper cladding is now different than regular Hexa. More or less, the exterior design remains the same.

Interior

Interior now has completely new theme. The all black theme of regular Hexa is replaced by dual tone white-black theme. The Hexa Safari Edition will be a seven-seater version. It will offer spacious second row with pilot seats. It gets the sun-blind for the second row windows. It continues to get touch screen infotainment system, Automatic climate control, JBL speakers and many other convenience features. It will be equipped with six-airbags, ABS, EBD and traction control system.

Engine

The engine will be same 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel unit. It produces around 153.86 bhp max power at 4000 rpm and 400 Nm peak torque at 1750-2500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The drivetrain will be 4X4 with the terrain management system. The engine will be a BS6 compliant engine.

Price

The price is expected to remain much or less the same as the current 4X4 model of Hexa. For reference Tata Hexa XT 4X4 STR is priced at Rs 19.25 lakhs(ex-showroom).  Tata Hexa will be discontinued for some period approx from march.

The Safari Edition might launch in Diwali period. The Tata Hexa Safari Edition will be produced in the limited quantity. It will compete against Mahindra XUV 500 and Toyota Innova.
