The Tiguan AllSpace is the long wheelbase version of on-sale Tiguan. The Tiguan AllSpace is bigger in terms of dimensions compared to the Tiguan compact SUV, which eventually translates more interior space. The AllSpace model measures 4,712 mm in length, 1,839 mm in width, 1,673 mm in height, and gets a wheelbase of 2,791 mm. The Volkswagen Tiguan is offered with seven-seats as standard. It is offered with the humongous 20-inch ‘Suzuka’ alloy wheels.
Interior and features
The Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace allows one to configure from one to seven people seats. It gets 230-litres of bootspace when all seats in use. It gets the touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The infotainment display can be controlled by the gesture. It is equipped with loads of driver assist features like parking assist, multi collision brake, rear view camera, adaptive cruise control, etc.
The Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace will come with only one engine option for now- 2.0-litre TSI petrol. There will be no diesel engine for a while. The 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol produces around 190 bhp at 5100 rpm and 280 Nm peak torque at 1800 rpm. The engine will come mated to the seven speed DSG dual clutch automatic transmission. However The Tiguan AllSpace will be available only in two-wheel-drive mode, unlike the short wheelbase Tiguan which is four-wheel-drive.
Pricing will be bit expensive than the regular short wheelbase version. For referance the short wheelbase version costs around Rs 28.14 lakhs(ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 31.52 lakhs(ex-showroom). It will compete against Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Honda CR-V, Mahindra Alturas G4 and Isuzu MU-X.
