Maruti has unveiled the Maruti Futuro e and flagged off the Auto Expo 2020. This vehicle is a technology concept by Maruti. With its name and looks this car definitely looks future ready. Previously we had reported about the car as being the EV entrant of Maruti in the Indian market.

Maruti was also looking to bring in a coupè SUV and by looking at the car today it does look like Maruti seems to have gone the coupè route and given the car a bold design which the company does not usually do with its cars.

What is the vehicle equipped with?

The Maruti Futuro e is equipped with a completely electric powertrain. This comes with a futuristic concept. While doing all this Maruti does not forget to put all this technology in car which has the SUV form which is now a favourite amongst Indians. This car is basically a concept of a Sports Coupe SUV. The vehicle will be seen with the all-new connected features.

Design talk

Overall the vehicle is sharp looking. The vehicle gets sleek LED headlamps. These flow all around the width of the vehicle. The Tail Lamps are also connected along the boot. The vehicle looks very sporty and it gives justice to the Sports coupè type of vehicle.

Interiors and Features of the Futuro e

The Cabin of the vehicle is also wide and smartly made. It has blue accents to give it the look of a future-ready car.

The steering wheel is rectangular shaped. It has a host of screens on the dashboard. The seats are flexible and they have a swivel function. Features-wise it is expected to get futuristic full-width internal screens, highly configurable seating, a bio-organic design theme and new material finishes on the inside. While the technical specifications of the car have not been unveiled yet, the chances of the car making it into the production lines are extremely slim.

Futuro e pricing and rivals

However, the car is a statement for the vision of the company and previews the shape of things to come in models such as the next-gen Brezza and the SUV that the company is planning to induce in the segment above it. Being an all-electric offering one can expect the Futuro-E to come at a price tag of around Rs 15 lakh. Therefore it will rival the Kona electric and the MG ZS EV. Seems like Maruti wants to bank in on the SUV plus EV market.
