Also, the top speed of this bike is claimed at 120 km/hr but this its when you push the bike to its complete limit. The bike feels comfortable in the 80-90 Km/hr range. This bike is priced at the top of the list because it is the highest-priced 125cc bike. It cost Rs 1.36 lakhs for the BS6 version. In terms of safety, the KTM Duke gets single-channel ABS. Also, there is a fared version of this 125cc engine but we do not recommend as the seating ergonomics are very track-focused. Also, the pillion seat on the KTM Duke 125 is better than the RC 125. This makes it a good bike for daily commutes. If you want to go for a fully fared track machine the next bike might offer a better deal over the KTM RC 125.

Yamaha R15 V3

The Yamaha R15 is a bike which has brought the concept of a fast 150cc bike to India. The Yamaha R15 V3 has perfected it further. This bike gets a DOHC engine with a VVA system. All this advanced tech on the engine gives it 2 power bands. The DOHC layout makes the engine high revving and the VVA maintains the power in the higher revs. The Yamaha R15 V3 has a top speed of 135 km/hr. Their acceleration is a bit crazy. This bike also gets a slip and assist clutch. This makes the clutch light to use and traffic riding easy. The bike is priced at Rs 1,40,280. This price is close to the RC 125 and it makes a much better deal. Also if you drive the Yamaha R15 V3 in the lower revs the bike returns a decent mileage of 48 km/l.

The bike has dual-channel ABS which makes it a safer bike overall. If you want to buy the Yamaha R15 V3 for the performance but your commute distance is more than average then you can go for the MT-15 which offers the same engine with a street naked ergos. As a college student, you can convince your parents, to buy the Yamaha R15 V3 for its safety as it offers dual-channel ABS.

Avenger 160 Street

The Avenger 160 Street makes it on our list as it is the only cruiser option. This bike has a low seat height. The bike is perfect for short riders. Also once do short road trip comfortably on an Avenger 160 Street with a pillion. The ex-showroom price of this bike is Rs 82,253. At this price, the vehicle makes for a great cruiser.

The design is somewhere it might feel dated but the comfort its offered is not available on any other bike at this price point.  This bike gets single-channel ABS. The bike is also riders who might be intimidated by the weight and seat height of the other bikes.

Convincing for this bike might be easy as it is price low and does not look fast. The bike has a 160cc engine which churns out a power of 14.8 bhp. This is great in the city and feels adequate on the highway. Being a small engine this bike does not heat much too. Also, you can go for the Avenger 220 Street but a lot of parents might not agree as that engine is the same on the Pulsar 220 F which has a notorious reputation.

Hero Xpulse 200

The Hero Xpulse 200 is a bike which makes it to our list because of its sheer design. The bike is priced at Rs 1.06 lakhs. This is a very low price of a 200cc bike. Also, the bike has a dual-sport design. This bike is for the Himalayan aspirants. The Royal Enfield Himalayan does not make a student bike in any way. The pricing is way too high and the bike is heavy too. Also it might eat a lot into the pocket money of a college student with its mileage. The Hero Xpulse tackles all these problems. It gives a slender design. The offroad characteristics are bold. This makes the bike an eye turner. The bike is sure to grab attention at a traffic light. Also, the seat height is not that intimidating. The long-travel suspension soaks up a lot of bumps and it makes the bike perfect for our broken roads. Also the road presence of the bike makes the rider visible all the time which is what makes this bike safe. The bike comes with single-channel ABS. The engine of the bike although 200cc produces a power of 18 bhp. This power is delivered in a non-intimidating manner and the bike feels comfortable for a beginner rider.

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

This bike makes it to our list as these bikes is the perfect teen bike. The engine of the Apache RTR 160 4V is sedated. It produces a power of 16.8 bhp. The suspension of the bike is not stiff and the bike soaks up bumps easily. This bike also returns a great mileage of 50 to 55 Km/l. The bike looks very sporty and offers a lot of racy styling for a low cost. Now the bike comes with Fi and this makes the bike even more refined and powerful. The bike also gets GTT which makes traffic commutes a cakewalk The Apache RTR 160 4V BS6 is priced at Rs 1 lakhs (ex-showroom). As a college student, the RTR 200 might eat up into the pocket money as the bike is less fuel-efficient than the RTR 160 4V. Also, take a look at the Apache RTR 160 which is slightly more compact but the design is old now.
