Already the engine of the bike is an innovative approach and has proved its power. Read further to know about the newly added features and price.

BS6 Apache RR 310 Engine

The bike continues to make use of the 312cc displacement engine. It is a reverse inclined DOHC engine which has been developed in collaboration with BMW. The engine has proved its worth as a great performance machine. The only complaint with the old engine was the unappealing exhaust note. The engine delivers peak power at 11,000 rpm. The piston of the engine is a Lite KS cast piston. This is given a Nanofriks coating to reduce friction. This thereby reduces the loss of power due to friction and keeps the engine cooler.  The power to weight ratio of the bike is also best in its class of motorcycles. The power figures of the vehicle have been mentioned along with the ride modes further.

Ride Modes

The BS6 Apache RR 310 now gets ride modes. This allows the rider to choose from four ride modes. The urban and rain mode have capped the power at 25.8 bhp. Whereas the Sport and Track mode allows the bike to use its full potential of 34 bhp. Also, the bike gets the ride by wire technology. This means that the throttle inputs are digitally calculated and applied to the fuel supply. This alters the power delivery and overrides the throttle inputs by the user. All this allows in a much safer ride and controlled delivery of power. The torque is also altered due to the ride modes. The bike has a peak torque of 27.2 Nm.

Rain Mode

The rain mode primes the ABS to deliver the maximum response with a strong lever pulsation feel, to safely power you through the storm. The enhanced rear-wheel lift-o protection improves safety and stability on wet roads, providing ultimate control of the race machine.

Urban Mode

The urban model allows for linear acceleration and deceleration, along with the smooth and controlled movement. The multi-information race computer displays essential information, navigation, and cellular notifications for your commute. The ABS is optimised for a quick response with minimal lever pulsation.

Sport Mode

The sport mode allows for maximum acceleration as well as optimised deceleration, engine braking, and ABS response. The multi-information race computer displays relevant touring data including navigation, distance, and estimated time of arrival.

Track Mode

The track mode unleashes the full power of the race machine and optimises the ABS response for late braking into corners with confidence and ease. The display clears up to show race telemetry and disables other notifications. The SmartXonnect app displays a detailed post-race analysis directly on your smartphone.

Racing Technology Features

The bike has a ride by wire technology. As explained earlier it will regulate the throttle inputs by the user.

Also, the BS6 Apache RR 310 gets a race-tuned slipper clutch. This allows aggressive downshifts without the problem of the rear wheel to lock up. It also allows the use of fewer clutch plates which makes the clutch lighter. This bike has been designed and tested in a wind tunnel. There are ram-air intakes placed at strategic places which help the bike to take in air to cool the engine.

TVS has thought about the traffic this bike will have to face and they have designed the gill vents on it. The gill vents suck the hot air from the engine and send it downwards. This keeps the hot air away from the rider’s legs. The bike also gets a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster. TVS calls it the Multi-Information Race Computer. It displays a slew of information along with the rider modes.

Other Changes

The BS6 Apache RR 310 has a new control on the left handlebar. This has the same 4 button layout as on the KTM Duke 390. It also gets TVS’s new GTT. This allows the vehicle to reduce the throttle management in traffic and thereby make commutes less tiresome. Lastly, there is a new colour that has been introduced to the vehicle. It is a called Titanium Black by TVS. The bike is priced at Rs 2,40,000 (ex-showroom). This is priced right between the Duke 250 and RC 390. Let us know in the comments if you would buy this bike over the KTM RC390?
