MotorOctane 2020 Awards Announcement – Best Indian Car 2020 is?

Today after a lot of time and effort we come to conclude our 2020 Awards. This involved voting and vigorous voting from our audience. 2019 has been comparatively quieter as most of the new norms were to come in from 2020. Without wasting any, let us get on to the winners in each of the category. This includes all vehicles that were launched in 2019.

Best Entry Level Vehicle – New Maruti Wagon R

This was a tough segment. The Wagon R was competing with the Triber, as both fall in a similar price point. The Wagon R was a clear like of many of its loyal buyers, and it scored a lot in the space department.

Best Affordable Vehicle – Mahindra XUV300

A segment, which has the maximum competition today – Mahindra has scored another important award here. We loved the build, quality and the features it offered. The XUV300 is for sure one of the best vehicles to procure today, especially with the technology it has been built with.

Best Entry-Level Premium Vehicle – Kia Seltos

No two ways about this segment. The Seltos is a clear winner in this category, not just with its looks, features and performance. It has amazing quality and the brand has done a fantastic job with its overall stance.

Best Mid-Level Premium Vehicle – Tata Harrier

Tata Motors has been surprising us every year and the Harrier this time set a new benchmark. The Harrier with its amazing product, based on the Land Rover pedigree.

Best Premium Vehicle – BMW 3 Series

BMW has definitely stolen the show for this year. The 3 Series is a product of clear limelight. The new 3 Series has a lot of style, elegance and even more than what an entry-level premium sedan offers.

Best Luxury Vehicle – Audi A6

Audi’s latest offering, the A6 has won the best luxury vehicle. There is a lot of competition in this segment and the Ingolstadt-based automaker has proven its worth with the new sedan.

Most Aspirational Vehicle – Porsche 911

Porsche 911 is one of the most loved vehicles and the new-gen excels in all the departments. A true sportscar in every sense.

Best Update of the Year – Tata Tiago

2019 saw an upgrade to the Tiago. It got what was missing in terms of changes, making it a highly liked product. The Tiago scored maximum score in its voting itself.

Variant of the Year – Jeep Compass Trailhawk

This is by far the most liked variant – Trailhawk. The SUV didn’t just get an automatic, there was even an upgrade in its technology as well – with the high ground clearance and enhanced off-roading abilities.

Best Technology Car of the Year – MG Hector

The panoramic sunroof on the Hector did catch our attention, but the product’s iSmart technology did win many hearts. Opening and shutting of the sunroof, connected car technology did truly change a lot about the auto industry.

Best Electric Vehicle 4W of the Year – Hyundai Kona

With Kona being the only major launch this year, there wasn’t much of a competition. For sure, a truly deserving award to introducing modern-day electric vehicles, which have changed perception of many about electric vehicles.

Best Car Manufacturer of the Year – Renault India Private Limited

Renault’s innovative product launches and facelifts is a case study for the industry. At a time when sales have been going down, Renault saw an increase in numbers due to its unique new product offerings.

Best Indian Car – Hyundai Venue

This is our pick for the Best Car of the Year. It was a close fight, but truly deserving. Be it features, specifications or even the space it offer. one of the best offerings in the market today.

Best Electric 2W – Okinawa Praise Pro

This has been an exciting year in terms of product launches. For the first time, even a new motorcycle has been introduced in the Indian market. However, it was still an electric scooter that won our hearts with the Okinawa Praise Pro being the face.

Best Indian Scooter – Honda Activa 125 BS6

The Indian scooter market didn’t see a great year, however the segment leader did introduce its ace product – the Activa 125 BS6. With its new engine, new silent starter and other elements it did become the best scooter of the year for us.

Jawa Motorcycles won our hearts with its latest offering. Jawa has the style, elegance and even the technology is the latest on offer.

Best 2W Manufacturer – Suzuki Motorcycles India Private Limited

Suzuki has certainly bought in some amazing products this year. There has been no stopping from the brand and it loved all of the new products that have been introduced. A great job done by the brand.
