Mahindra & Mahindra, each time during Indian Auto Expo, rules the floor with some mesmerizing concepts and custom cars. Some key concepts company showcased in the past are XUV Aero, Halo electric, UDO, ATOM etc, along with some mainstream new launches. This year will be nothing short of extravagant, as the company has a wide array of interesting showcases lined up. One of them will be Mahindra Funster concept – an electric supercar.

Mahindra Funster electric super car

As reported by Autocar, Mahindra Funster is a concept with some strongly rumoured specs. It would be part of the company’s vision of bringing high performance, futuristic electric supercars. It will be driven by total 4 motors, one at each wheel, with power equivalent to 313 horses. Yes, you read it right – an electric super car-producing 313 bhp! Not to forget, electric cars’ characteristic toque available on tap from the beginning itself. If it turns out to be true, then this power and torque combo could propel the car from 0-100 km/hr in less than 5 secs. There will be a battery pack of around 60 kWh fueling it.

Mahindra Halo Electric car

Mahindra showcased a similar concept car called Halo electric during Auto Expo 2014, remember? This concept when taken forward and developed further, might have given birth to this Funster. Halo concept claimed to do 0-100 km/hr in time under eight seconds and attain a top speed of about 160 km/hr. It looked very futuristic with all LED light setup, low slung compact two-door design and large alloys with low profile tyres.Automobili Pininfarina

Also, during Geneva Motors Show 2019,  Mahindra owned design studio Automobili Pininfarina revealed an electric hypercar called the Battista. Though the project is owned by Pininfarina, we believe that this Funster will draw some inspiration from it as well. Battista holds 1900 bhp and 2300 Nm torque under its belt with which it can manage 0-100 km/hr under two secs. Further, the 0-300 km/hr feat is achieved under 12 secs.

Mahindra XUV Aero

Join the dots from Halo to Battista and it is very easy to imagine something which is very close to the actual Funster. We have to wait for few more days to get all the details about this impending new concept. Sharing floor with this will be as many as 18 other cars/concepts in Mahindra’s arena. Stay tuned for all the expo updates.
