Bajaj Pulsar 220F BS6 SPOTTED, launch soon
Bajaj Pulsar 220F BS6 has been spotted recently while testing near its manufacturing plant. The test mule was spotted with no major cosmetic changes.
However, the engine cowl seemed slightly different than regular unit. Rest all of the features appeared to be the same. It will continue with projector headlamps, semi fairing, tall windscreen, split seats and a semi-digital instrument cluster. A price hike of Rs 7,000 to Rs 9,000 is expected. The changes are mostly constrained to the engine and exhaust department. The engine will be same 220cc single cylinder air cooled unit accompanied by Bajaj’s twin spark ignition system. However, the engine will now be a BS6 complaint mill, which means air-fuel mixture will be managed by electronic fuel injection rather than a carburetor.

The engine is mated to five-speed gearbox.
The BS6 model will have an upgraded catalytic converter at the exhaust to keep the emission in check. Slight drop in the power is expected over the BS4 model.

For a reference BS4 model produces max 20.9 hp at 8500 rpm and 18.55 Nm peak torque at 7000 rpm.

Other cycle parts will be retained from the BS4 model. The BS4 model is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, 90/90-17 front and 120/80-17 rear tubeless tyres. Braking duty is managed by 260 mm disc at front and 230 mm disc brake at rear. It gets single-channel ABS at front as standard. It is equipped with clip-on handle bars. Suspension duty is handled by telescopic suspension at front and 5 way adjustable Nitrox dual-shock absorbers at rear.
