Tata Tiago facelift engines and gearbox

The 1.05 petrol engine produces 86 bhp and 114nm of torque, with Tata claiming that the new BS6 engines have been tweaked so as to improve its driveability as well as its performance. Expect more on that when we get to drive the car. It will be made available with both- a five-speed manual as well as an AMT that was previously offered in the car. With Tata following the likes of  Maruti in discontinuing the diesel engines in the 2020 Tiago facelift.

The car does not get any major redesign since it was launched only two years ago. The changes mainly include a new revised mesh grille with sleeker-looking headlights at the front to add to its character. On the rear, it gets only minor tweaks that cannot be easily distinguished from the outgoing model. Although on the inside, you do get some refreshing changes such as the touchscreen getting some updates, a flat-bottom steering wheel that has inbuilt controls to control the infotainment system. The most noticeable change though is the all-new, all-digital instrument cluster which is the best in its class, getting a few colorful elements on the inside too so as to go it a more funky look and possibly attract younger buyers.

Pricing

The prices of the Tata Tiago facelift have not gone up significantly with the base model starting at 4.6-lakhs (ex-showroom) while the top of the line XZA+ going up to 6.6-lakhs (ex-showroom).

Tata has done a good move by not just updating the car with BS6 changes but also adding a few cosmetic changes and some noticeable changes in the interiors which will continue to attract buyers for the car. Meanwhile, check out our detailed walkaround on the Tiago facelift below.
