Royal Enfield Classic 350 has always been a teenager’s dream. Featuring in many blockbuster movies, it has set itself apart from other bikes. After successful two decades, RE Classic is now refreshed with the BS6 upgrade. Did it manage to retain its charm? Well, read out our full story as we discuss the 5 changes in the BS6 Classic 350 upgrade.

Classic 350 BS6 engine

In the BS6 transition, the majority of changes have been made to the engine. The BS6 Classic 350 carries the same BS4 powered 346cc single-cylinder engine but with added closed-loop fuel injection system. The BS6 engine produces 19.3 Ps of max power at 5250 rpm and 28 Nm peak torque. Surprisingly unlike other BS6 upgraded bikes, the power has gone up by 0.71 Ps contrast to BS4. Torque, however, remains same 28 Nm as BS4.

The engine is mated to 5-speed manual gearbox. The cycle parts of BS6 remain the same as BS4 i.e chassis, suspensions, braking etc.

BS6 Colour Schemes

The BS6 Classic 350 comes with an additional two colour options – Stealth Black, Chrome Black. Other colour options from BS4 are retained as well which includes Signals Airborne Blue, Signals Stormrider Sand, Gunmetal Grey and Classic Black.

Classic or Convenient?

Due to the public demand of alloy wheels, RE has offered Nine Spoke alloy wheels with tubeless tyres in most of the variants. Chrome colour variant will not get alloy wheels instead it will have regular spoke wheels with tube tyres. These might rob the classic look but they are more practical than the tubeless tyres.

Features

The exhaust shield has extended till the dead-end of the bike which looks spectacular. It comes with a single horn setup. The suspension is tuned for nor too hard and nor too soft, which is good while cruising.

It also gets side stand engine inhibitor. The speedometer has not changed. And there is still a disappointment for people who asked for fuel level indicator.

Price

The BS6 Classic 350 is launched at a price of Rs 1.69 lakh ( ex-showroom New Delhi ), which is premium over 15,000 to its BS4 model. Prices of the model varies depending on the paint scheme. RE has offered attractive three-year warranty and roadside assistance contrast to two-year warranty in BS4 model.

RE Classic 350 BS6 will have a direct competition with Jawa forty-two and Benelli Imperiale 400. While Jawa forty-two has set the benchmark in terms of power. There’s a lot of work for RE to do in the power department. There are lots of reports that suggest RE been working on new versions of Classic, Thunderbird and Bullet. So we expect that same engine will be carried forward on their upcoming bikes.
