The BS6 Mahindra Marazzo will continue to be a good MPV option for someone who wants a seven-seater that is more spacious than the Ertiga and has a very good fit and finish. However, the Marazzo was supposed to capture the market between the Ertiga and the Innova Crysta, which are both 7 seater MUVs, but it has failed to establish a dominant position in the market.

Therefore with updated engines being rolled out, the Marazzo will some new features and updates. Check them out below.

BS6 Mahindra Marazzo AMT gearbox

The absence of any kind of automatic transmission on the Marazzo has always been a letdown, and therefore Mahindra could line up at least one of the variants on the car with an AMT gearbox so as to not drastically increase the price. Mahindra already offers the AMT gearbox cars such as the XUV300, and therefore this should be a possibility.

BS6 Mahindra Marazzo Petrol engine

With the Indian market inclining towards petrol engines in recent times, the introduction of a petrol engine seems like a must, especially now with the introduction of BS-VI engines making the increase in pricing of the diesel variants higher than the petrol ones.

Stronger performance

With the introduction of the new petrol engine, it will also bring in better performance as the petrol will be as powerful as the diesel engine and hopefully, it won’t feel sluggish when loaded with passengers.

Other features

The top variant of the Marazzo is priced at 15l ex-showroom, and yet it seems to miss out on some basic features such as keyless entry, automatic headlamps and vipers, steering adjustment; the additions of which could benefit in its sales. More importantly, the number of airbags should be increased to four as standard since it is a seven-seater. Check out our complete review of the Mahindra Marazzo

Currently, the Mahindra Marazzo is priced between 10-14.75 lakhs ex-showroom. The prices of the new BS6 Marazzo are expected to go up by around 10-15% and consequently, if Mahindra are able to add these features to the car, then the Marazzo would be an attractive option in the MPV market, and compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the Tata Hexa and the Toyota Innova Crysta.
