The Jeep Compass five-seater is a vehicle which has been a very amazing product in the Indian Market. The vehicle is a product of the Fiat Chrysler group. This had very expensive products which were justified because they were CBU products. The company is trying to change it because by making certain products in India. Now the company has decided to launch two new variants for the Jeep Compass. Basically this is the offering of a 9 Speed Automatic gearbox on the diesel variant of the vehicle. The vehicle is available in 2 variant – Longitude and Limited Plus.

The pricing of the vehicle is at Rs 21.96 lakhs for the Jeep Compass 4×4 Longitude 9AT and Rs 24.99 lakhs for the Limited plus vehicle. Dr Partha Datta – President and Managing Director, FCA India said “We are strengthening and expanding the Jeep Compass range with the introduction of four diesel automatic variants, of which, the base and top-end variant will available to consumers right away. Both variants offer more equipment, boosting the value-for-money proposition for the customer which we believe will increase our share in the segment. This roll-out has also given us the opportunity to offer our locally-made BSVI-compliant 2.0-litre turbo-diesel powertrain to consumers much before the statutory deadline.”

The Jeep Compass was launched in 2017. The car was available in petrol and diesel. But the automatic variant was available only on the petrol variant in the form of a DCT gearbox. The Diesel vehicle had a 6-speed manual option only. This was also available on the base sports trim on the petrol. With this inclusion of the 9-speed automatic gearbox on the diesel variant it has provided the people with the perfect combination of comfort with power. 

 

The Jeep Compass is seen in 6 variants – Sport, Sport Plus, Longitude, Limited, Limited Plus and TrailHawk. Except for the Trailhawk, the other variants have a combination of the fuel type and powertrain and transmission. The Trailhawk has a different engine that gives it exceptional off-road capabilities. The vehicle has all-wheel drive and better torque. The launch of the new diesel automatic variant on the Jeep Compass will make them lose the exclusivity factor of the Trailhawk. This might see some effect on the sales of the Trailhawk. The new variant of the Jeep Compass which gets the same BS6 compliant engine as on the Trailhawk. This engine is a 2.0-litre Multijet four-cylinder diesel engine that creates a power of 170 bhp. Being a diesel engine it generates a massive torque of 350 Nm. The BS6 engine has been made available on the diesel automatic also comes with a list of features. This will be available on the website of Jeep India.
