There is news that Bajaj is working on a smaller engine of the Dominar. The vehicle will be a smaller sports tourer as its bigger sibling. This might be called the Bajaj Dominar 250. The spy shots of the 2020 Bajaj Dominar 250 have been surfaced and this confirms the news. The brand has a complete Pulsar series along with the commuter Discover range. The company has to make the whole range BS6 compliant and then move on to bringing new products to the market. Now this news of the 2020 Bajaj Dominar 250 adds to the plan and thereby will expand the Dominar range decreasing the gap between the Bajaj Pulsar 220F and the Bajaj Dominar 400.

What is seen in the Spyshot of 2020 Dominar 250?

The test vehicle of the Bajaj Dominar has been spotted with a thinner tyre at the rear. The swingarm of the vehicle is also of cheaper quality. The front and the rear brakes of the vehicle are also smaller in size. The alloy wheels design has also been changed. Only the body panels of the vehicle are the same. Also one interesting this is that the front forks have been kept as USD unit.

There has been no confirmation of the engine specs of this model of the Dominar. We expect it to get a new 250cc engine which will be derived from the KTM Duke 250. The Dominar gets an engine which has been built on the same engine as the KTM 390. The 250cc engine makes an ideal placement as the vehicle is a part of a very competitive segment. There are a lot of naked streetfighters in this segment and the segment has seen a good rise this year with the entry of Benelli. The Royal Enfield 350 and the Jawa 300 also have the performance which is equivalent to this segment.

What is the expected power?

Although the engine will be from the KTM Duke 250 it won’t be priced so high. Bajaj will make use of cost-cutting parts which will help the company to place the bike in the market very cost-effectively. This will make it a better buy over the other competitors in the market. The engine is capable of producing 30 Nm of power and 24 Nm of torque. The tuning of the vehicle will be different from the KTM. It will drop in terms of power but will give refinement. This will be somewhat familiar with what is seen on the Dominar 400.

The vehicle is expected to be priced at Rs 1.50 lakhs – Rs1.60 lakhs. At this price, it will be a great deal. Now the company is also planning on launching the BS6 complaint Dominar soon. The price of the bike is expected to rise by Rs 10,000. This might put the bike in the Rs 2 lakh segment. The complete review of the 2019 Bajaj Dominar done by us. Do check out the video below.
