The next-generation Jaguar XJ will be having a coupe version too, as confirmed my our sources close to the Solihull plant. Jaguar will unveiling the new-generation CJ next year and the deliveries will commence in North America and Europe in 2017. However, the Coupe version’s global debut should happen in 2017, maybe in Geneva or Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new-generation XJ might have a radical design and this will be the replacement to the XK, which was discontinued a while after the F-TYPE got introduced. The XJ Coupe already has competition in the form of Mercedes-Benz S-Coupe. At the moment, Audi and BMW do not have anything in the market against these, but the other two German brands will also be preparing a competitor.

The XJ Coupe will be based on the new-generation Jaguar aluminium platform and Ian Callum will be busy designing several new Jag products.

There won’t be a major weight reduction in the XJ, as even the current one has several aluminium parts, however it will be a lot more dynamic.

There shall be a XJ-RS, an even more better performance version made by SVO (Special Vehicle Operations).

The same shall be done with the Coupe as well. Jaguar’s XF has already been launched and next in-line is the F-PACE.
