Tata Nexon BS6 facelift is here, launching on…

The 2020 Tata Nexon BS6 is finally here. The car has been expected for a really long time and since the arrival of the Nexon EV. The car is now available with a choice of BS6 engines, new exterior design and minor tweaks to the interior. Tata has started accepting bookings of the car for a sum of Rs 11,000 and will announce the price soon. We might see it launched on the 22nd of January. The Nexon has been around for a while and it made sense that in 2020 Tata give this car a much-deserved facelift. The details, video and pictures below will make you understand what to expect from the new 2020 Tata Nexon BS6.

Tata Nexon BS6 What is new?

Let’s start with the design. The new Nexon now gets a revised grille and front bumper. The headlights are also new and are inspired by the Nexon EV. The car will be made on the same platform as the current Nexon as it is a facelift and not a new generation product change. So the same dimensions, capacity, tyre size and safety levels will be carried forward. Tata has also revised the rear taillamps of the car. Lastly, there will be new color options available on the Nexon now.

We will get you more information on the design when we see it in person. In terms of the interiors, we can see below a touchscreen with a new interface and new steering. Otherwise, everything else remains largely the same.

Engine, price and competition

The Tata Nexon BS6 facelift will continue to get the options of a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel, both in a BS6 state of tune. The petrol engine produces 108bhp and 170Nm of torque while the diesel motor produces 108bhp and 260Nm of torque. Both the engines will be offered with a six-speed manual transmission and an AMT. Other specifications do not change.

Pricing of the new car will increase by Rs 60,000 to Rs 80,000 for petrol and around Rs 1.
