They are the most prefered option for commuting and so manufacturers are focussed on bringing more and more options in the Hatchback segments. With more demand for premium hatchbacks, we have seen manufacturers coming up with the more feature-packed vehicle at a considerate price. Looking at last years trend and demand for SUV has not affected the love for hatchbacks. So here are 5 upcoming hatchbacks which will refresh this segment.

Hyundai Elite i20

This year we will be getting a completely refreshed Elite i20 from Hyundai. The car has been spotted a number of times while being tested. The front of the vehicle is expected to undergo some major changes. This upcoming hatchback will have a cascading grill which will be supported with LED headlamps. The taillight too will be LED. The front will be a design trace of the Hyundai Elantra facelift. The vehicle will come with features like Blue Link and many more features as on the Hyundai Venue.

This car will get the all-new BS6 complaint 1.5 L diesel engine and the petrol counterpart will be the 1.2 L engine. There also will be the 1.0 L turbo petrol engine which was seen on the Venue. Maruti Celerio Facelift

The Maruti Celerio has been on the market for 5 years. It replaced the Ritz and the A-star and created a perfect vehicle between them.

This vehicle is now ageing and is due for a facelift. The vehicle will be built on the new and light Heartect platform. The vehicle is expected to get the 1.

0 L BS6 compliant engine which Maruti used on other vehicles. The state of tune on this vehicle will be for low-end torque and city diving. This vehicle will be available with AGS making it the perfect traffic commuter. This will be one of the upcoming hatchbacks that might see a CNG option on this vehicle. There won’t be a diesel engine as Maruti has decided to discontinue diesel on all small vehicle.

The Maruti Ignis has been on the Indian market. But it will see a facelift which will give it a new and updated look. The images of this upcoming hatchbacks have been surfaced on the internet which has given us a fair idea of how the vehicle will look. The design line is close to that of the Maruti Brezza and the newly introduced Maruti S-Presso. There are rumours that these are the renders for the international spec model but there is fair chance that this vehicle will make it to the Indian markets too.

The major change was in the form of the new grille and bumper. The vehicle is expected to come with the same BS6 engine as on the Baleno and Swift. The vehicle will create 83bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. We might see some drop due to the BS6 tuning. There will be an option of an AMT unit too.

The Tata Altoz makes for the premium upcoming hatchback. This segment is growing slowly and gaining peoples attention.

The vehicle is a bit late in the market but it has a load of features to impress the audience. The design is a bit aggressive with a sharp shoulder line and dual-tone colour scheme. The vehicle is introduced with a BS6 compliant diesel and petrol engine. The petrol version of the vehicle has the 1.2 L BS6 Revetron engine. This comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The diesel is a four-cylinder 1.5 L BS6 Revotorq engine. This to come with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This vehicle misses on an automatic gearbox which might be a place where it might lose customers. The vehicle is completely feature-packed and Tata considers its gold standard of hatchbacks.

Tata Tiago Facelift

The last upcoming hatchback on our list is the Tata Tiago Facelift. This vehicle will get major updates in terms of styling and features. The vehicle is expected to get the front as on the Tata Altroz a the vehicle will also be compliant to the new upcoming crash test norms.  The engine of the vehicle will see some change with a 1.2 L petrol engine which will be a BS6 engine.
