2020 Leoncino 800  has been showcased at EICMA 2019. Benelli is has lined up 10 launches. They will be bringing in the 800cc engine which will be seen on the Leoncino 800 and TRK 800. The bike will continue to have the same styling as the smaller Leoncino 500 and 250.  We have further explained the design in the article. First, let’s take look at the engine of the vehicle.

The Leoncino 800 will be powered by a 754cc engine. It will be a parallel twin setup along with liquid cooling. The engine will make 81.6bhp and a decent torque of 67Nm. Being a scrambler style bike it won’t have much weight. The power will be put down using the 6-speed transmission. This will come with a slipper clutch. The vehicle will have a different frame than the current Leoncino. The suspension of the vehicle will be a 50mm Marzocchi USD fork.

This suspension will be properly set up for highspeed riding but this will affect the rider on a bad road. Breaking of the bike will also be managed by dual-piston callipers which will be sourced from Brembo. The rear brakes will be 2 pistons whereas the front brakes will be 4 piston brakes. This will give it a great stopping power which will inspire confidence. The Leoncino 800 which was show was with spoked wheels but the vehicle for India will do with alloy wheels.

There might be an offroad kit which will be an addon which might have the optional spoked wheels for offroad travel. These will be side laced which will give the option of tubeless tyres. One area where the Leoncino lack is the headlight. This might be addressed on the 800 by giving it better headlights. This bike will sit at the top of the Leoncino lineup and so we can expect a complete digital TFT screen.

2020 Leoncino 800 Design Language

The design of this bike is very unique. It gets a slim tear-shaped tank. The bike is compact and low. The tyres are chunky at both front and rear. The handlebar is wider and flat. This allows manoeuvring while standing during an offroad situation. The ground clearance is also decent. The bike will look bigger than the Leoncino 500 because of the bigger engine and extra components. Also, we expect Benelli to have a head-turning exhaust note. If they can do it on a 250cc engine it won’t be much difficult on a bigger displacement engine.

How will it be priced?

The pricing of the 2020 Leoncino 800 is the part where this vehicle will get an edge over the competition. With the KTM Duke 790 priced at Rs 8.63 lakhs the price for an 800cc is very high in India currently. This is where we expect the Benelli to put out a product that is priced at 7 lakhs which will be way less than the other bike like KTM 790 and the Triumph Street Triple RS. There is no doubt that these bikes are way more loaded but this bike will focus at the entry point to this segment.

DO check out our video on the Leoncino 500 to get a fair idea on what the bike will look like. Also, make sure to tell us in the comments about what do you think will the new Leoncino 800 will get over the Leoncino 500.
