2020 Suzuki Intruder 250 – Will this be the perfect cruiser from Suzuki?

Walking into 2020 we have the BS6 norms which have led to the launch of a lot of new BS6 updated vehicle. These updates have made the manufacturers busy and they have been updating recently launched vehicle. Suzuki motorcycles have recently updated the Access 125 BS6. Their Gixxer lineup remains still in the BS4 stage and there are 3 bikes which have the same 150cc engine which has been carried over from the old Gixxer. The new 250cc engine on the Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 to has to be updated. We expect that along with these updates the company might bring in the 2020 Suzuki Intruder 250. This will be built on the same concept of the Suzuki Intruder 150. 

The bike will make use of the same 250cc engine which will make its way on the BS6 Suzuki Gixxer 250. This engine will be made BS6 ready by giving a new setting to the fuel injection system. This might drop some power but it won’t make much of a difference on the Intruders as it is meant for a comfortable ride.

Keeping with the trend on the Gixxer 250, the 2020 Suzuki Intruder 250 will be similar to the Intruder 150 in terms of design. Now the underpinning if borrowed from the Gixxer 250 then the bike won’t feel under tyred which was the case on the old intruder. 

The Intruder addresses all the issues of comfort on the Gixxer. It will have a comfortable seat and the riders triangle will be pushed toward maximum comfort. The footpegs will be front set. The seat height will be low and this will give it a relaxed riding posture. We expect this bike to get pulled back handlebars which will improve comfort. The pillion seat will also wide and comfortable. An additional back support accessory might make it a perfect cruiser. 

The suspension setup will be softer and will eat most of the bumps and bad roads. The 26bhp of power from the engine will help in maintaining good highway speeds. In terms of design, there won’t be any difference, instead, the colour scheme of the vehicle will be the differentiating part. A combination of matte base colour with chrome at certain places will make the bike look apart from the competition. Suzuki has made use of a matte black paint scheme on the Suzuki Intruder 150 but the dual-tone on that bike does not make it stand out. We hope that the bike fixes these issues with the new 2020 Suzuki Intruder 250.

With a bigger 250cc engine the Intruder can now compete with the Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise. This bike has been on the market for a lot of years and there isn’t a real good competition for it. The pricing of the Cruise 220 will be one place where it might beat the 2020 Suzuki Intruder 250. But this can be managed as this bike is a mix and match of an engine form the Gixxer 250 and the body from the exsisting Intruder. Even if Suzuki prices at par with the Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise then to it will do better in terms of sales. At Rs 1.04 lakhs – Rs 1.09 lakhs this cruiser can be a good proposition.
