While we wait for an announcement from KTM India on how are they going about the business of releasing BS6 updates, the images of the 2021 KTM Duke 390 have surfaced online. The particular spy shot we see above is of a KTM tester putting the bike which has been stripped of all it’s bodywork through its paces. So to get more clarity of the changes it will see, when will it be launched and what can we expect – scroll down.

The WP forks seem could be upgraded too and a complete chassis overhaul for the Duke 390 seems to be underway.

The exhaust setup looks to be slightly different than the 2020 version as well. While the exhaust shown here could be due to the changes in the power figures of the engine, we in India will also see some changes to the exhaust of the 2020 Duke 390 because of the upcoming BS6 norms.

The brakes on this unit seen are Bybre and the footpegs also seem to have changed their position a bit.

The design of the bike is going to receive some changes too. The front headlight unit looks the same but seems to be sitting on the frame more rakishly. In fact, there could be some changes coming to the overall dimensions of the bike with the rake, rear shock absorber, swingarm and ground clearance changing a bit.

Price and launch

It’s too early to comment on these two points for the 2021 KTM Duke 390 but as far as we know, if KTM brings the current Duke with a BS6 update it will continue till next year and we could see the new updated Duke come within next year but at the very end. Prices will increase as we might see more rider aids like Traction Control make their way from the 390 Adventure to the Duke.
