The 2020 Hyundai Santro might soon be the second car from the Korean manufacturer to get the BS6 treatment according to one leading publication. To make it BS6 compliant, Hyundai will upgrade the Santro’s 1.1-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine. Along with that, the car will also be given subtle updates on the inside to lure more customers. So what will those changes be and what will the power figures be for the BS6 Santro? Read further to find out.

2020 Hyundai Santro Changes?

The 2020 Hyundai Santro will continue to use it’s 1.1-litre engine and will produce the same – 69bhp 99Nm of torque.

Apart from that, we have also understood that the car will get an automatic gearbox for all the variants on offer and not limit it to the Magna and Sportz trim lines. This is again Hyundai trying to impress buyers for the Santro. On the inside, we will see some tweaks too – a rear wash/wipe, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink compatibility, steering-mounted controls and power-adjustable wing mirrors. This will all be available on the Asta variant. So not much but a through effort by Hyundai to make the Santro more appealing.

2020 Hyundai Santro

On the design front, nothing will change. The car that came in 2018 will be the car we will see continued.

Hyundai might want to get an Active version of the car like the Maruti Celerio X or the Tiago NRG which is something that will again make it more diverse as a product.

The 2020 Hyundai Santro will continue to battle the cars like the Maruti Celerio, Tata Tiago and even the Renault Kwid Climber. The price will increase for this entry-level hatchback by Hyundai but not by much and we will know more in the coming month. Till then check out our comparison video of the Santro and the Tiago.

  • Hi,

I am planning to buy Hyundai Santro AMT Version with Aqua teal color in Anniversary edition.

Reason to buy with aqua teal is that santro has black interior.

My question is that will that color be available in 2020?

  • Santrocar old design is nice and attractive. Present shape is common with i10 and other cars of different company’s. Uniqueness should be maintained.

  • Sounds interesting, I was considering the Asta variant of the BS4 model. Now, I’ll wait for this BS6 version.
