The 2020 Hyundai Verna has been globally been revealed in China. The car is one of the most sorted after Hyundai’s after their SUVs but is often overlooked in the segment. The upcoming Verna is going to be a fully facelifted product with more features and a fresh new look. The sedan is known for its good price value in the segment where cars like the Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid is a bit more expensive. While Hyundai will want to retain that kind of pricing, the coming in BS6 norms will make it tough. The prices of the car will increase, especially for the diesel variants. Yes, unlike manufacturers like Maruti and Volkswagen, Hyundai will continue to provide customers with diesel engine options with all their cars. And that’s not all, 2020 Hyundai Verna is going to spruce up the Verna further to make it more desirable.

What will change on the 2020 Hyundai Verna?

A lot. This is a significant change the 2020 Hyundai Verna will get and the new look of the car will include – a trapezoidal grille, larger headlamps, silver inserts, revised front and rear bumpers, new tailights, redesigned bumper, and two new sets of alloy wheels. On the inside, we will see a bigger touchscreen, smart connected car technology which should be India specific, cooled and power-adjustable seats, new upholstery and a better infotainment system. Some of the buttons on the dashboard and the steering wheel will remain the same.

On the engine front, the 2020 Hyundai Verna will get a set of BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. The diesel engine will be the same powering the Kia Seltos, the 1.5-litre mill that will also be used in the upcoming Hyundai Creta. There is also a possibility that Hyundai could get the 1.4-litre turbocharged engine with a DCT gearbox for the Verna.

This will make it an exciting car to drive too and will make it performance-wise closer to the Honda City and the Volkswagen Vento.

When will it come and how much will it cost?

The 2020 Hyundai Verna will be shown at the upcoming Auto Expo and will subsequently be launched. The pricing of the car will increase as it will be BS6 compliant and the car will get a host of new features. The price should start from Rs 8 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs.
