Jawa is a company that has brought us the Classic Jawa which looks retro but does not have an old engine. The company has really given meaning to the word modern classics. Now with BS6 norms on the head with the coming year these bikes – The Jawa Classic and Forty Two will become cleaner too.

Jawa has announced that the Jawa and the Forty Two will continue to have the same engine even after the BS6 emission norms. The current engines on the bike are BS4 compliant. They have to be updated before April 2020. Earlier when the BS6 compliant Jawa Perak was revealed it was expected that the same engine will continue on the Jawa and Forty-two. The Jawa Perak is a bobber style vehicle which has a bigger engine than the Jawa and Forty-two. The Jawa has a 293 cc engine which has been bored to 343cc on the Jawa Perak. The engine on the Jawa and Forty-two makes a power of 30bhp and torque of 31 Nm. The 293cc BS4 compliant engine will produce 27bhp and 28 Nm of torque.

The Perak is costlier than the Jawa by Rs 30000.

This price increases might be on the account of the BS6 compliant engine.

We have made a full review of the Jawa classic which is a bike which has been revived from the past.

Jawa 42

The reason why the BS6 engine from the Perak will not be introduced on the Jawa and Forty Two will be because the higher displacement of the engine is the talking point of that engine. To give that engine on the Forty Two might hinder into the sales of the Jawa Perak. The company has to make sure that it distinguishes the vehicle in terms of the engine as well. We have done a complete walk-around on the bike where we have explained everything on the bike’s styling and design.

For the future plans, Jawa will soon be starting with the bookings of Perak. The deliveries of the bike will start in April 2020. With the first delay in deliveries of the Jawa motorcycles, we hope that the company will keep the deliveries in check with the Perak this time. As far as The Jawa and Forty Two is considered we expect a price hike when BS6 is introduced on the bike. Keeping up with the trend we also expect the vehicle to get a new paint scheme as other manufacturers introduced.
