The BS6 deadline is closing up and Suzuki is also gearing up to make changes in its scooter segment. The Access 125 is a scooter which has been the favourite of customers over a long time.

Because of its comfortable seating posture, easy rideability and excellent mileage, this scooter has been the go-to 125 cc scooter in the segment. The vehicle has already received a few updates at the start of the year and no Suzuki is developing a BS6 compliant engine.

The BS6 engine on the access is expected to be the same engine but now instead of a carburettor, we will get fuel injection system. There is no way around it. This might cause either drop in mileage or drop in power. Being a commuter segment scooter we think that the company might drop the power keeping the mileage same.

In the last update the Suzuki Access 125 got CBS, along with that it also got some design updates along with a new matte colour. The engine also saw a few changes but not any major ones. The company sells more than 45000 units on an average and this put the scooter on a priority list to get BS6 update. In some recent news, the vehicle also got alloy wheels. The BS6 model that is expected to come in the market is expected with an external fuel filler cap. There might be LED headlamps making it look more modern. The Suzuki Burgman 125 uses full LED headlamps. The BS6 engine will come with a fuel-injected BS6 engine.

Suzuki Access 125

Honda has come up with a new silent start engine.

This allows the vehicle to be provided with a start-stop mechanism. This saves a lot of fuel in traffic and provides the convenience of driving. We also expect Suzuki to get this similar technology on their Suzuki Access 125 BS6. Now even the updated Yamaha Fascino 125 has entered this league of scooters.

Currently, the vehicle has a 124.6cc air-cooled engine. It produces a power of 8.7 bhp and torque of 10.2 Nm. It is a gearless scooter with the CVT gearbox. The talking point of the vehicle is the suspension. It gets telescopic forks at the front. The brakes are not great even with the disc brake and this is somewhere we might get to see an improvement with the new BS6 model. The bite of the brake will be improved which will improve the braking.

The price of the vehicle sees some changes due to the BS6 updates. Now the Suzuki Access 125 BS6 will see some increase in price over the existing price. Rs 5000 to Rs 3000 will be expected increases over the current premium of Rs 55, 977. The competition of the scooty with the TVS Jupiter, Honda Activa 125 and the Hero Destini 125.
