KTM will be launching the Adventure 250cc next year for the Indian market. The company is already manufacturing the RC 250 and the Duke 250 for exports and it has a 250cc engine localisation in its Indian plant. So, KTM will be launching the KTM Adventure 250 next year in India. As per the earlier plan, the bike was due to be launched by this December.

After speaking to some company executives, we learnt that the RC range is selling more than the Duke and now the Austrian two-wheeler maker is looking at enhancing its product portfolio with the Adventure range of bikes. Bajaj has already got the Adventure range on its Pulsars, now KTM will be getting it too.

We learn that Bajaj introduced the adventure editions of the Pulsar in 150 and 200 to see how the market reacts.

The Pulsar 200 NS has been discontinued. Initially, the 150 AS was the major selling product but now even the 200 AS numbers have picked up. This is a good sign for Bajaj and now the company is confident that the KTM 250 Adventure will also be a good product to introduce. The price of this bike will be about INR 30,000 more than the RC200.

Hero Impulse was one of the first products for Indian market in this segment, however the major complaint by users was the lack of power from the small 150cc engine. Hero will be introducing the 250cc version of the Impulse or maybe a new brand name itself. The KTM Adventure will be launched sometime by mid-2016.
