Jeep Compass 7-Seater might come to India in 2021

The news of a 7-seater version of the Jeep Compass is something that we all were expecting from a long time. In fact, there is a Jeep Compass 7-Seater in the International Market. It is called as the Jeep Grand Compass. This vehicle will be very interesting as far as the Jeep lineup in India is concerned. For now, the Jeep has a good product but the pricing of it is a bit high and it falls into a premium range of products. The introduction of the 7-Seater version of the Compass will make it more sensible and favour the Indian buying behaviour. 

As of now, we haven’t received any official pricing from the company about this new 7-seat version of the Compass. We have tried to speculate the price and other factors according to the nature of the market.

Jeep Compass 7-Seater Launch

The launch of this vehicle is expected to take place in the year of 2021. The process of making an India spec version of the vehicle will take time and we do not expect the vehicle to turn up in the year 2020. As for this year, the company is going to focus on its existing products in the market making a strong foot in the market.

Even in 2021, we expect it to arrive at the mid of the year in the months of June or July. 

Jeep Compass 7-Seater Price

The price of this vehicle will be around Rs 18 lakhs. The pricing of this vehicle will put it in competition with the Hyundai Tucson. The vehicle will be a premium 7-seater SUV. The price will be justified for the features and offerings. The difference between the pricing of petrol and diesel will be around Rs 20,000. Jeep will be using the same power plants of the vehicle and so it will reduce the cost of production. 

Jeep Compass 7-Seater Engine

The engine of this vehicle will be the same as the regular jeep compass. This means that the petrol will have the 1.3L FireFly Turbo petrol engine and the diesel will make use of the  2.0L MultiJet II diesel engine. Both these engines will be made BS6 as the vehicle will arrive in 2021. The engine is expected to make a power of 162 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.

The vehicle will get a 6-speed manual gearbox and the automatic will be a 9 speed CVT transmission.

 The interior of the vehicle will be plush and luxurious. The vehicle will have soft fabric seats. The uses of an expensive fabric will be seen. The front seats of the vehicle will be ventilated and will have good bolstering. The vehicle will also have a digital instrument cluster. It will have an adjustable steering wheel which will be adjustable for both rake and reach. The driver’s seat will be electrically adjustable. There will be dual tone treatment for the dashboard. The middle row of seats will have a good amount of headroom as well as knee room. The vehicle will not make use of the longer wheelbase. It will increase the overhang which makes it drop a few bucks on the development cost.  The last row of seats will be decently comfortable but it will be a bit lacking in headroom. 

Jeep Compass 7-Seater Design

Design-wise the front of the vehicle will remain the same as the Jeep Compass. It will get the chrome treatment for the grill and the flat bonnet. This will improve driving dynamics by improving visibility. The vehicle will also get LED headlamps with day time running lights at. There will be a bold Jeep badging at the centre. The turn indicators will be placed above the fog lamps. From the side, the vehicle will look muscular. The overhang will increase considerably. The design of the squared wheel arches will be continued which will be followed by the bold shoulder line joining it. The roof will get a floating treatment because of the blackened B and C pillars.

The D pillar will be wide and might hamper the rear visibility. This will be countered with the help of the 360 parking camera. The rear will be the same as the existing Jeep. It will have LED tail lamps and the Jeep badging.

The main competition to this vehicle will be the Hyundai Tucson. This 7 seater premium sedan by Hyundai is the perfect price competitor for the Jeep Compass. The Hyundai vehicle has more trust value as the brand has been in the Indian market for a longer time than Jeep
