Maruti S-Cross is the one car that started the Nexa trend in India. This vehicle has been doing business in a subtle way and hasn’t been outright sales sensation. The Facelift of the vehicle retained the design. It is known for being stylish and graceful. The vehicle has a brawl look and is evident in the stance that has. It gets one engine and the variants lineup isn’t very complicated to choose from. Along with this Maruti also offers a large number of features and accessories on this vehicle that makes it an all-round package. The 2020 Maruti S-Cross will be a vehicle that will get the top of the line of the Nexa lineup.

The launch of the Maruti S-Cross will be at the start of 2020. The vehicle will be largely anticipated by fans.

There will be a curiousness about the petrol engine and its performance on the actual car. This launch will be a BS6 specific launch where all Maruti vehicle will get BS6 compliance along with some minor updates.

This vehicle has a perfect combination of aggression and sophistication. The body has a sot design but there is aggression in some places. It is seen from the black cladding lower skirts and the skid plates on the lower lip. They add a character to the vehicle. The front grill has bold verticle slats which will be polished in chrome. The headlamps of the front get projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights. The rear too gets LED taillights. The vehicle has 16-inch alloy wheels on all variants. 2020 Maruti S-Cross Engine

Price is the key to the petrol engine. This will be about a lakh cheaper than the diesel engine. So, we expect the new S-Cross petrol to be priced at INR 10 lakhs to INR 11 lakhs (on-road). This will be made available in five variants. Maybe, Maruti could even surprise us with an automatic on the S-Cross. This will be more expensive than the expected pricing. The petrol automatic should be priced at INR 12 lakhs.

A 1.5-litre petrol engine will be powering the S-Cross. In terms of power, it will have 100bhp and 133Nm of peak torque. This engine could come mated to a six-speed manual transmission and there could even be a CVT on offer. The new S-Cross will have this engine on offer for those who do not travel much and need a more affordable engine, which has good mileage and decent performance. This engine won’t be able to match the outright performance of the 1.6-litre diesel, this is more of a comfortable cruiser. To drive will be an easy task as one doesn’t feel the need to shift gears that often.

2020 Maruti S-Cross Spy Shots

Maruti S Cross BS6 Diesel

The Spy shots of the test vehicle clearly shot that the vehicle is being tested for BS6 emission norms. There is a testing kit attached to the exhaust tip which makes this clear. Along with this the car also has the badging of 1.

6 which is new to the S-Cross. The S-Cross is a vehicle that is currently only available with a diesel engine of 1.3 litre and which will be discontinued after BS6 emission norms. The badging of  DDiS on the front Fender makes it clear that Maruti is testing a diesel engine. This 1.6 engine will be a Fiat engine. This raises many questions about Maruti’s plans to discontinue diesel engines after BS6 emission norms come into effect.

2020 Maruti S-Cross Competition

The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is the product of a segment that is highly competitive at the moment. A couple of new launches like the Renault Captur and Tata Nexon threats to make life difficult for the S-Cross. But the fact that it is from the best Indian automaker plays a big role in the minds of the buyers. However, the Ford EcoSport crossover has almost been a parallel car in the segment and could well be called its arch-nemesis. But one thing is for sure, the Smart Hybrid petrol engine of the S-Cross makes it much more economical over the Fords. The Maruti S-Cross price is a little on the higher side considering most of the competitors except the Captur.
