Mahindra has confirmed with the European audiences about the launch of the Mahindra XUV 400. The Mahindra XUV 400 is a longer version of the XUV 300. It will not change visually from the front side. The launch of the XUV 400 will be around in the year 2021. The vehicle will be a 7 seater and an affordable. The XUV 400 will receive a good response right from the start. This vehicle fills all the gaps of the XUV 300.

The price of the XUV 400 will be priced right between XUV 300 and XUV 500. The XUV 400 will be sold along with the Scorpio. This will be a more modern approach to the seven-seater vehicle. The price of the vehicle will be between Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs. This price might make it confusing for customers to select between cars. Mahindra is trying to make its lineup tight along by introducing the XUV 400.

Mahindra XUV 400 Engine

This vehicle will be powered by a 1.5-litre GDI Motor. The Engine will be the same as on the Marazzo. Under the hood, in the Euro-spec version, there will be a 1.5-litre GDI naturally aspirated direct-injection four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine has already been designed for a 7 seater. The vehicle will have proper power and torque for the 7 seaters.

The interiors will be similar to the XUV 500. There will be some sense of comfort and premium feel. The materials that will be used will be of better quality than the Scorpio. This car will be for the Urban car who want a modern car to drive to the office. The car won’t be a pure offroader. It will be the best car to tackle Mumbai potholes. The vehicle will get cloth seats as well as leather seats. The instrument cluster will be like that of the XUV300. There will be cost-cutting on the vehicle at certain places. The car will probably get a lighter colored interior. This will make it roomy and spacious. XUV 400 will be like a Scorpio which looks a bit soft on the outside.

On the exterior, the XUV 400 will take the grill and front fascia from the XUV 300. This side of the vehicle will be just extended. Currently, there is no overhang for the vehicle. This will change to some extent. The XUV 400 will get bolder rear. Mahindra will really try to make the car stand out from the rear. We will have to wait for the Spy shots to get an idea of what exactly the vehicle looks like.

The XUV 400 will be there in be based on the SsangYong Tivoli Air (SsangYong Tivoli XLV). The dimensions of the vehicle will measure 4,440 mm in length, 1,798 mm in width and 1,635 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. Its wheelbase is the same as that of the SsangYong Tivoli, and its extended rear overhang is meant for additional luggage space, not an extra row of seats.

The Mahindra XUV 400 will become with a lot of features like electric sunroof leatherette upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The seat comfort will be better than the Scorpio. This vehicle will have premium features like climate control, cruise control and much more. 

Mahindra XUV 400 Competition

XUV 400 will compete with the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. Both these cars are expected to receive a 7seater version. Along with this, it will also compete with the MG hector 7 seaters. Upcoming cars like the MG Hector 7 seater, Kia SP and brands like Citroen will make sure that Creta is always on its toes.
