Renault Kwid Facelift launched today!

Renault will be launching a facelift of the Kwid in 2019. The Renault Kwid 2020 has been an exciting car. When first launched, it took the market by storm and challenged the segment leader, Maruti Alto. It was attractive looking and also had good road presence. This was enough to roll eyeballs in its favour. Space and features it offered was unparalleled in its segment. This made it a big hit in the country. Now as the car completes three years it is bound to get a major facelift.

The price of the Kwid Facelift starts from Rs 2.86 lakhs. The vehicle has 8 variants. These comprise of  2 engine options and manual as wells as automatic driving options. The basic variant is very basic vehicle which is perfect for first-time buyers. This makes a is apt for users who want a vehicle which is very basic and will take you from Point A to Point B.

The 8 variants have something for every type of buyer. Renault has tried to nail this tight pricing along with offering such a good looking vehicle. There is an 800cc vehicle option as well as 1000 cc option. Along with this, there is an AMT gearbox for those who want the ease of driving in traffic and spend most of the time in traffic. The Climber edition is the more sporty looking variant which makes the car look and feel funky.

Renault Kwid Facelift Engine

The car will be available in two engines, the 1.0 litre and the 0.8 litre petrol engine. Both these engines will be made available in BS6 compliance. They are 3 cylinder units. The 800 cc motor produces a power of 54Bhp and a torque of 72Nm. The 1.0 litre will get power of 68bhp and a torque of 91Nm. The car is equipped with a 5-speed manual and an AMT. The responsiveness of the engine is expected to be more with a floor-mounted shifter.

The exterior of the vehicle is inspired by its electric version. The vehicle looks futuristic and sports a modern front. The grill has chrome lines which flow around the Renault logo. The vehicle will feature the new split headlights. This will feature a daytime running light in the form of a strip. This will divide the headlights into two. The upper section will be for high beam and the lower for low beam. The car will also get a new setup for fog lamps. Overall this new change to the front end. The front fascia of the vehicle makes it look modern and very attractive.

From the side the vehicle will remain more or less the same. There might be a change in the rear door handle placement. The rear of the vehicle that was spied was heavily wrapped. As far as cosmetic changes are concerned there is no comment on that. There won’t be any changes in the shape of the rear. The taillights seem like they have some elements of LED. This offering at this price point will be really amazing. It will be a real sales grabber.

Renault Kwid Facelift Handling 

The handling of this vehicle is the best thing about this vehicle is it handling. In Spite of the small wheels, it handles well. The car has been softly sprung and the suspension does it duty well. The main problem is the wheels which are small and get eaten up by some potholes. The 2020 Kwid will continue to have all these features. The feel and feedback on the steering will be better and the steering will be well responsive.

These photos of the interior make clear that the vehicle looks that more funky. There are orange accents at a place which makes the vehicle look good. The shape of the AC vents is also circular. The steering design has been changed but a flat-bottom steering wheel will make a good choice. The car will also get an AMT. This is same as the duster and has a rotary knob.

The 2020 model is expected to get a premium version which will get a higher quality seat. The interiors will see some cut-down and they will become more spacious. A lighter colour of interiors will give it an airy feel. The car will get an infotainment system that will support android auto as well as apple car play. The car will get body-coloured inserts at places. The highest variant will get rear AC vents but there is a possibility that the AC on this vehicle will bog down its performance.

Renault Kwid Facelift Safety

For safety this car gets to airbag as well as the structural integrity of the vehicle will be improved.  This will be for the upcoming crash test. It might also get additional airbags for more safety. The vehicle will also be built from higher tensile steel. The minimal safety is a problem on this vehicle but this cannot be rectified as this is a budget vehicle.

Mileage is the real USP for this car. This is usually the first time buy for many people and the company makes sure that the cost of owning a car remains less. The current car gives a mileage of 23 km/l. This means that the vehicle will be easy on the petrol consumption and provide relief to the wallet.
