The bookings for the new Maruti Baleno have commenced as this new premium hatchback will be launched and sold from Maruti’s Nexa Experience range of dealerships.

The Baleno will be competing with the Hyundai Elite i20 and the Honda Jazz. This will be launched on the 26th October and will be manufactured at the company’s Manesar plant.

The Baleno will be the third product to join the Nexa range with the Ciaz SHVS and the S-Cross. This is the company’s premium range of vehicle showroom and it will be coming with a 1.0-litre BoosterJet petrol with an automatic option, 1.2-litre K-Series petrol (maybe with DualJet technology) and a 1.3-litre diesel engine with SHVS (smart hybrid vehicle by Suzuki) engine options.

The Baleno will be Maruti’s most premium hatchback and it will be placed above the Swift in the family tree.

The  Baleno will sport features like seven-inch SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay compatibility (just like the S-Cross), daytime running lamps, LED taillights, 16-inches wheels and a will be offered only on the top-end model of the hatchback. Other noteworthy features include 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, navigation system, reverse parking sensor, power folding mirrors, dual airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), etc. It will be a just under four metres and a lot wider and longer than the Swift. The pricing of this hatchback will be about INR 7-10 lakhs (on-road).
