Maruti will be launching another limited edition of its best selling hatchback – Swift, called the Glory Edition. It is festive season time and Maruti is trying to attract maximum new buyers who have been spoilt for choices with several competing products in the market.

The Glory Edition of the Swift has only cosmetic changes and the mechanicals remain the same.

The changes include a red coloured roof and ORVMs, decals on the side bonnet and the boot, blackened C-Pillars, side skirts and a rear spoiler. The interiors will come in dual-tone red and black upholstery, including the seats, gear cover, and the steering wheel. Other features include a new music system with Bluetooth telephony, parking sensors with a rear-view camera and new designer floor mats.

The Glory Edition will be offered on the VXi and VDi trims, and will also get automatic climate control, start-stop button, and steering mounted controls.

The car will come equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS), however will offer no airbags. The Swift Glory Edition will continue to be powered by the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDIS, Fiat-sourced diesel engine. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard on both.

The car is expected to be launched in this week and will be made in limited numbers. The price is yet to be revealed.
