The 2016 edition of the Bajaj Avenger cruiser motorcycle will be launched in a few days and apart from the existing 220cc engine, will also be offered in a 150cc version. In all, there will be three variants available in the Avenger.

The Avenger has been one bike that has had consistent sales for many years now. While Bajaj have been making periodic upgrades to it in the mechanicals department, nothing much had changed on the cosmetic front. This time however, there is more stress by the company on the styling, apart from a new 150cc engine.

The third variant of the Avenger will come with a 150cc engine. This is the same engine which does duty in the Pulsar AS150. Bajaj is introducing this variant for the price conscious customers.

The Avenger is a derivative of the original Kawasaki Eliminator which was launched in 2001 and was the country’s first true cruiser. The 175cc Eliminator had started a new segment and created quite a fan base. It also was the most expensive Indian-made motorcycle of its times. The Avenger was later launched by Bajaj, utilising the 180cc engine from the Pulsar at a lower price point and the Avenger went on to become a big success.
