Honda is going to officially show us the new Honda Jazz in the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show later this year but before all of that, the new Honda Jazz has been spotted in a picture that has surfaced online. The car shown here is the Type R version of the car and it looks great. The Honda Jazz is way overdue for a major update and this fourth generation of a Jazz is coming next year to India.

2020 Honda Jazz Design
The Honda Jazz now gets a completely new design. At the front, it gets a set of more rounded headlamps that are similar to the second-generation car. The headlights get projector units with LED headlamps and DRLs with black inserts, The front bumper is more squarish now, with prominent black inserts and a honeycomb mesh design for the fog lamp inserts and air dam. It sports a wider and taller grille, again with black inserts, and a prominent Honda badge with red bits, as seen on the other Honda Type R models. The new Jazz’s glasshouse is more rounded and it also gets a small quarter glass just aft of the rear door. Also seen on the new Honda Jazz are large alloy wheels that are painted black.
New Honda Jazz Platform
The new Honda Jazz will share its underpinnings with the all-new Honda City sedan that is also being road-tested in Thailand before its market launch expected sometime next year. This also means that the Jazz will be wider and bigger than before. Expect an increase in boot space and legroom.
2020 Honda Jazz Specifications
The Honda Jazz is expected to offer a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol for markets like India and the likelihood of a diesel being offered on the Jazz seams low. The surprising fact is that the Type R variant seen here will come with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering a whopping 220hp, making it the most powerful iteration of the Jazz ever built. Will we get that in India? Let’s hope so.
New Honda Jazz Competition
The 2020 Honda Jazz will continue to compete with the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20 and the upcoming Tata Altroz.
