The Mahindra Thar has been an off-road favorite for enthusiasts for decades now. But with new emission and safety norms kicking in soon, the humble off-roader has to be discontinued. We will see a new-generation Thar coming in next year which will be safer, more powerful and have more creature comforts/features. But Mahindra could not let the old CJ3A leave the building without one last swan song. The 2019 Mahindra Signature Edition will be the off-roader’s last hurrah.
The car will have a limited run and will bear Mahindra boss, Anand Mahindra’s signature.
It will have it’s own special trim and details too. Mechanically it will remain the same. To know more about this limited edition and see the leaked spy shots, scroll down below.

With respect to the Mahindra Thar Signature Edition, the off-roader has been upgraded with the Aquamarine paint scheme, borrowed from the Mahindra Marazzo, while the front grille has been finished in black. Mahindra will introduce a ‘Signature Edition’ of the Thar in two shades – Napoli Black and Aquamarine. There are additional decals on the sides, while a Signature Edition badge has been placed on the right-hand side fender that bears Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra’s signature, which probably explains the name. The bumper assembly gets a new silver paint finish on the metallic sections, while there are new alloy wheels as well borrowed from the previous generation Mahindra Scorpio.
Interiors feature new Signature Edition Kolon leatherette seat covers for the driver and passenger.
The Mahindra Thar Limited Edition will continue to battle it out with the Force Motors Gurkha. That car too is up for a BS6 upgrade and it will be interesting to see their fights in the future for after the new generation Thar arrives.
